Sunni Patterson is a truth-teller, healer, and cultural keeper for New Orleans.

A Ninth Ward native and Katrina survivor, Sunni uses her gift for spoken-word storytelling to bring powerful conversations about displacement, environmental trauma, and community resilience to the forefront. From major festivals to local gatherings, she creates spaces for healing, identity, and frontline voices to be heard.

This Friday, Sunni will join the city in marking 20 years since Hurricane Katrina with a second line, rally, and national moment of silence on Friday, August 29 at 11 AM at Jourdan Ave & N. Galvez.

This event is FREE & open to families!
