I got to see the BMW R12 S in-person yesterday in Daytona. Unfortunately it wasn't available to ride yesterday and I had to leave this morning but DAMN is it a good looking bike.

I got it on a whim when I was visiting Charleston, South Carolina. Since I wasn't prepared, I had to partially disassemble it to fit it into my Chevy Malibu so that I could bring it back home when the trip was over.

2020 Honda Grom purchased in 2021. Traded in in 2024.

This article by Lance Oliver discusses Harley's attempt at upcoming affordable bikes. As a Harley fan, I'm skeptical. The Triumph Speed 400 is cheap but well built and powerful (for it's size). I worry Harley will give us another iteration of the Street series.

New, low-cost models are coming next year from Harley-Davidson: a Sprint for under $6,000 and an "iconic cruiser."

I finally got to test ride the Yamaha XSR 900!

It was a guided ride so I couldn't really test it like I would have wanted but nonetheless, it was a very pleasant ride. I've never gone so fast in just 2nd gear before. 😁

A calm, frigid night with a light coating of snow. The very next morning I had to take a ride in 28° degree weather. Fortunately the snow was basically gone but the air was still biting at my skin.

I got to test ride a second Indian motorcycle today. The 2024 FTR Sport in Storm Gray. To my surprise, I enjoyed this one more than the Scout.

It was even more powerful than the Scout and I just like the way the ride felt better. I can't explain it. I will say, the bike didn't feel happy going slow speeds though. Very jerky.

I got to test ride an Indian Scout 101 today at Biketoberfest. Pretty nice. The software for the display seemed to be a bit buggy though. Hopefully that was just a one-off issue.

The bike was powerful, especially compared to my Sportster. This was also my first time riding with forward controls. Definitely takes a bit to get used to but I can easily feel how that would be comfortable for longer rides.
