“My kitty’s name is Mozzarella, which is just perfect because I’m allergic to cheese. She’s a ‘hidden treasure’ which means she’s a little more timid than most animals available for adoptions, due to being part of an animal hoarding situation. I know she will, over time, come out of her shell and learn to love again.” -Erika Ditzman '21

Mike Van Asten Resignation Letter

"But it is the meeting, specifically Brian's presentation to the board, that has caused me to once again rethink my role. For the President of the College to misrepresent the truth, repeatedly, to members of the board, is unacceptable."

The following is Mike Van Asten's resignation letter to Abbot Dane Radecki that was obtained by the St. Norbert Times from an anonymous source:

Staff Association Questions the Board of Trustees

In a meeting on Nov. 21, the staff learned that President Brian Bruess made a legal agreement with the Board that prevents disclosing any more information other than a “difference in vision.”

In addition, the Board stated that the possibility for Pres. Bruess to remain at the college is “on the table.”

Happy Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day!

"In light of everything that has occurred in the past week or so, I have felt called to share these sentiments with you all. Some of you know me very well, some of you simply know my name, others may not know me at all. I’ve greatly enjoyed the opportunity to become acquainted with many of you and I look forward to conversation with those of you I may yet meet." —Emily Hirsch '21

A sober and sad reminder why transparency and accountability are important to the growth of our catholic community
A sober and sad reminder why transparency and accountability is important for our church. “As a grieving mother, I beseech those who read this to risk facing the true brutality of clergy sexual abuse. Abuse victims are all around us—they are our sons, daughters, grandchildren, fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, husbands, wives, and friends. Please pray fervently that survivors may be treated with understanding, acceptance, and love. Let your diocese know how you feel about the clergy sexual abuse scandal. Be willing to support survivors in their difficult task of recovery. Hold diocesan church officials accountable for allowing perpetrators to continue molesting in parish after parish, excusing these actions by saying they received “poor medical advice.”
So... no coverage of this, ever?
