A healthy thunderstorm has sprung up south of town along Hwy 171. It appears there was a microburst that occurred around the evergreen trailer park area causing some damage as well as knocked some power out in that area. No warnings on the storm as of now. This storm is slowly tracking north west.

Great news folks. Fall is right around the corner! Fall will begin on September 22nd 2026! Will it bring any cool air with it? It’s possible. There have been several long range models showing a cold front moving across the country just in time for fall! We will have to wait and see. There is no guarantees we will see a cold snap in September. However there are some signs there is a possibility we see some type of cooler or drier air before the start of October!

A 40% chance of seeing a thunderstorm today for all areas in shaded blue area on map. This is thanks to sufficient moisture from a weak low that’s spinning up in the northern gulf. Expect daily scattered thunderstorms and showers each day from now through the weekend!
