ترامب يمنع الطلاب الأجانب الساعين للدراسة بهارفارد من دخول البلاد.
علق الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب أمس الأربعاء دخول الطلاب الأجانب إلى الولايات المتحدة الذين يسعون للدراسة أو المشاركة في برامج التبادل في جامعة هارفارد مدة 6 أشهر مبدئيا، وسط تصاعد الخلاف مع واحدة من جامعات النخبة.
وعزا ترامب القرار إلى مخاوف تتعلق بالأمن القومي التي اعتبرها مبررا لمنع الطلاب الأجانب من دخول الولايات المتحدة لمتابعة الدراسة في الجامعة الواقعة في كامبردج بولاية ماساتشوستس.
ويمكن أن يمتد التعليق أكثر من 6 أشهر، كما يوجه إعلان ترامب وزارة الخارجية الأميركية بالنظر في إلغاء التأشيرات الأكاديمية أو تأشيرات برامج التبادل لأي طالب حالي في جامعة هارفارد تنطبق عليه معايير الإعلان.
Trump Bars Foreign Students Seeking to Study at Harvard from Entering the U.S.
U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday suspended the entry of foreign students into the United States who aim to study or participate in exchange programs at Harvard University for an initial period of six months, amid escalating tensions with one of the nation’s elite institutions.
Trump cited national security concerns as justification for the decision, claiming it was necessary to prevent foreign students from entering the U.S. to study at the university located in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
The suspension could extend beyond six months, and Trump’s directive instructs the U.S. Department of State to consider revoking academic visas or exchange program visas for any current Harvard student who meets the criteria outlined in the announcement.
