The Bhutanese Community of Central Pennsylvania (“BCCPA”) would like to inform the community that the Bhutanese Nepalese Community of Shippensburg (“BNCS”) is organizing a memorial service in remembrance of Pradeep Tamang.
The memorial will be held at 56 Cleversburg Road, Shippensburg, PA 17257 on Saturday, February 14, 2026 from 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM.
BCCPA is grateful to BNCS for organizing this memorial and for providing an opportunity for the community to gather in reflection and remembrance. In the spirit of unity and solidarity, BCCPA has been in communication with BNCS and stands in full support of their efforts during this time.
We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Pradeep Tamang during this profoundly difficult time.
Pradeep resettled from Pathari Camp in Nepal to New Jersey in 2009. In 2012, he and his family moved to Akron, Ohio, where he pursued higher education at the University of Akron, earning a Bachelor’s degree in National Security and later a Master of Arts in Political Science with a concentration in Security Studies.
After completing his master’s degree in 2023, Pradeep and his family relocated to Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. He served as a correctional officer in Dauphin County for eight months before moving to Georgia in October 2024 to begin his law enforcement career. He graduated from the Gwinnett County Police Academy in May 2025 and went on to serve the public with dedication and honor.
At just 25 years old, Pradeep’s life reflected courage, discipline, ambition, and an unwavering commitment to service. From higher education to investigative work and ultimately to law enforcement, his journey stands as a powerful testament to resilience and purpose. His story is one that inspires not only the Bhutanese community, but all who believe in service above self.
BCCPA respectfully invites community members to attend the memorial service organized by BNCS. The program will include a candlelight vigil. We kindly ask all attendees to remain respectful of the venue and, most importantly, of the privacy and wishes of Pradeep’s fam.
