FAQ's

Q: Who can rent the Big Blue Sound services? Any Millikin student or student organization or person from the community can rent the services of Big Blue Sound for an on-campus event. Q: What do the the services of Big Blue Productions entail? We provide a full PA system for concerts including an engineer to run the system for sound services. We provide a full lighting rig and engineer for lighting rentals. For video rentals we provide a camcorder and two canon cameras

Q: How could I rent the Big Blue Sound services? Rent by contacting [email protected] or James Branham [email protected] or Izzy Glimco [email protected]

Q: When can I rent the Big Blue Sound services? Rental for outside use April-September. (exceptions can be made according to weather)

Q: How much would it cost to rent the Big Blue Sound services? It depends based on needs, contact the previous listed emails for an exact price

We did a lot of cool stuff this weekend! First, spending all of Saturday with a bunch of INCREDIBLY talented groups at Vocal Jazz Fest at Kirkland Fine Arts Center and then Sunday evening at BURLESQUE at Pipe Dreams Studio Theatre. Thank you to both of these fine establishments for bringing us in to help bring their shows to life!

Kicking this week off with another crew member spotlight!
Meet John Pirelli! He is a junior Commercial Music major with a Jazz Studies certificate. Fun fact:"I am apart of 7 ensembles this semester"
The reason he loves sound is: "Sound is an essential part of my life. I play Saxophone in college and so many more instruments outside of college. If sound wasn't apart of my life, I wouldn't be where I am now. I mainly make sound for people to enjoy but I also love being on the other end of sound. Running live sound and recording sound is a huge passion of mine and I can't wait to be apart of Big Blue Productions for the rest of my time here at Millikin!"

Starting off our crew introductions with the wonderful Tara Nuccio!
She's a commercial music major from Westmont, Il class of 2020. Fun fact: "My lower ribs on my right side didn't heal properly after I fell on a fence post as a wee child, so now there's a significant difference in the shape of both sides of my ribcage."
The reason she loves sound is: "I love sound because no other sense picks up on emotions as well as hearing does. We hear sounds, whether it's a poem, a song, someone else crying, bad news, good news, and these things can bring forward emotions so easily. I don't usually smell something and get sad, but it could be different for other people."
