Kill the BUILD PLAN.

Illinois' proposed BUILD Plan is drawing major debate across the state.

Critics, including Darren Bailey, say the plan would give Springfield more control over local development and reduce the ability of communities to decide what gets built in their own neighborhoods.

Supporters argue Illinois needs more housing and that increasing supply could help improve affordability.

Opponents say the issue is bigger than housing—it's about local control, property values, and preserving the character of suburban communities.

The question many Illinois residents are asking:

Should Springfield decide how your neighborhood grows, or should local communities have the final say?

The Bears Could Get A Massive Tax Break

A reported stadium plan could allow the Chicago Bears to avoid paying traditional property taxes through a public stadium authority.

Supporters say it could create jobs and boost the economy.

Critics say Illinois taxpayers already pay enough and shouldn't have to make up the difference.

For many residents, the question is simple:

Should billion-dollar projects get special tax treatment, or should everyone follow the same rules?

Breaking: The Illinois Senate passed a bill allowing out-of-state illegal immigrants to qualify for in-state tuition at Illinois public universities.

The vote was 38-19, with all Democrats voting yes and all Republicans voting no.

According to State Senator Andrew Chesney, Illinois taxpayers will be left paying the cost while many Illinois families continue to struggle with rising tuition expenses.

Chesney voted no, saying taxpayers should come first.

Illinois Families Need Property Tax Relief.

Property taxes continue to be one of the biggest financial burdens facing Illinois homeowners.

Darren Bailey says it's time for real reform. His proposal would cap property taxes at 1% of the price you paid for your home, potentially saving Illinois families thousands of dollars every year.

For many homeowners, property tax bills have risen year after year, making it harder to afford the homes they've worked their entire lives to own. Bailey argues that families shouldn't be punished with ever-increasing taxes just for staying in their homes.

Critics say government services could face budget challenges, but supporters believe state and local governments should learn to live within their means instead of constantly asking taxpayers for more money.

If saving Illinois families thousands of dollars a year means government has to make some tough spending decisions, Bailey says so be it.

Do you support capping property taxes at 1% of the purchase price of your home?

I’m not posting this because I support one politician over another.

I’m posting it because context matters.

A clip from my podcast with Darren Bailey was taken, edited, and presented as if he was answering a completely different question than the one I actually asked.

The original conversation had nothing to do with apologizing to Chicago. It had nothing to do with changing his views on Chicago.

The question was about whether experience, education, and time in politics had changed any of his policy positions for the betterment of Illinois.

That context was removed.

Whether you're Republican, Democrat, Independent, or don't care about politics at all, I think we should all be able to agree on one thing:

Voters deserve the full conversation.

Judge for yourself.

Original clip.Edited clip.Same words.Different story.

And Governor Pritzker, if you happen to see this, the invitation stands.

No work over 80 degrees?

As temperatures begin rising across Illinois, a proposed workplace heat safety bill is once again drawing attention.

Supporters say the legislation is about one thing:

Protecting workers from dangerous heat conditions.

The proposal would require employers to provide measures such as access to water, rest breaks, shade, safety planning, and additional protections during periods of extreme heat.

Worker advocates argue those protections are necessary, especially for employees who spend long hours outdoors during Illinois summers.

Critics, however, worry about unintended consequences.

They argue the proposal could increase compliance costs, create new paperwork requirements, and make it more difficult for industries like construction, farming, transportation, landscaping, and road work to operate efficiently during warmer months.

Small business groups have also raised concerns about record-keeping requirements and implementation costs.

At the center of the debate is a larger question:

How do lawmakers balance worker safety with economic realities and the ability for people to earn a living?

That's why this issue continues generating strong opinions from both sides.

One thing is certain:

The conversation isn't going away anytime soon.
