Miller Gardner, Son of Former Yankees Star Brett Gardner, Passes Away at 14**

The baseball world is in mourning following the tragic passing of Miller Gardner, the 14-year-old son of former New York Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner. The heartbreaking news was announced by Brett and his wife, Jessica, on Sunday.

"With heavy hearts, we are saddened to announce the passing of our youngest son, Miller. He was 14 years old and has left us far too soon after falling ill along with several other family members while on vacation. We have so many questions and so few answers at this point, but we do know that he passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of Friday, March 21st," the Gardner family shared in a statement released by the Yankees.

Miller was known for his love of sports, especially football, baseball, and golf. His parents described him as a joyful presence in their lives. "Miller was a beloved son and brother, and we cannot yet comprehend our life without his infectious smile. He lived life to the fullest every single day," the family’s statement read.

The New York Yankees also expressed their deep sorrow over Miller’s passing. "Words feel insignificant and insufficient in trying to describe such an unimaginable loss. It wasn't just Brett who literally grew up in this organization for more than 17 years -- so did his wife, Jessica, and their two boys, Hunter and Miller," the team said. "Our love for the Gardner family is unconditional and absolute, and we will offer our enduring support while understanding their desire for privacy at this time. May Miller rest in peace."

Miller was an aspiring athlete, making highlights last fall while playing high school football in South Carolina, wearing No. 11—the same number his father wore during his Yankees career.

Brett Gardner, a Yankees legend, played 14 seasons in Major League Baseball, helping lead the team to a championship in 2009 before retiring in 2021. Known for his leadership and dedication to the game, he remains a beloved figure in the Yankees community.
