Faithful supporters we need your help! Each week we rely on the help of donors to provide food to feed 25 women, 3 meals a day, 7 days a week. We have not received a donation truck in 3 weeks. Please help us fill our freezer with meat donations, produce, and other vital items like milk and eggs to make a menu for our women’s home. WCSO INVESTIGATING SHOOTING ON STATE ROAD 81 IN PONCE DE LEON; JUVENILE INJURED

Walton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting incident in the area of State Road 81 in Ponce De Leon south of C.B. Whitehead Road.

A juvenile was life-flighted by Walton Air Rescue, Florida with a single gunshot wound.

Initial evidence gathered at the scene indicates the incident may have been an accident.

No further information is being released at this time to protect the identity of the minor involved.

We ask for the public’s patience as the investigation continues.

I am soooooooo excited. I was spinning around a lot when mom told me I got to do today's post. She said I had to settle down because I almost knocked her down. Please help spread the word! We are collecting gently used coats and blankets to give out.

St. Agatha's Rice and Beans Food Ministry's next distribution will be Saturday, January 18th from 8:00-10:00. Doors will open at 8:00 am. Breakfast will be served from 8 am - 9:30 am or until its all gone. In addition to breakfast each participant receives, dried rice and dried pinto beans along with other non-perishable food items. As always, this is a FREE service. No paperwork or identification required. If the Rice and Beans Ministry can be of assistance to you or someone you know, please join us and spread the word. ALL are welcome!

Sally ID # 63396, is a female Rottweiler Mixed Breed approximately 2 years old. She was brought in from Passion Flower Street, Defuniak Springs.

Sally is not yet available for adoption. We hold stray/lost pets for three business days to give their owners a chance to claim them. If she is not reclaimed by her rightful owner, she should become available for adoption when we open at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, January 14th, 2024.

OCSO News Release:

A Shalimar resident who serves as Friar of a Shalimar church has been charged with multiple counts of possession of child po*******hy by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.
64-year old Frank Gough II was taken into custody January 9th on 30 counts of possession of child po*******hy following the ex*****on of a search warrant at his home on 8th Street.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a tip in May 2024 regarding uploaded sexual images believed to contain children.
An OCSO Investigation of the information ultimately led to Gough’s home. During the search, computer storage devices were located and seized.
On those devices investigators found extensive files of child po*******hy including video of a young female who appears to be between three and five years old.
Units from Internet Crimes Against Children, OCSO Drug Task Force, and Homeland Security Investigation took part in the search warrant.

They enjoy keeping their homes and eating areas clean and even designate specific areas for waste to maintain their living spaces cleanliness. Pigs are pretty fascinating if you ask us!
