FAQ
Hereās most of the information you need to know about our Mail-In Sharpening Service.
We get tons of questions about it. Hopefully this answers all if not most of your concerns.
Q1: How do I start a mail-in sharpening order?
A: Download and fill out the Mail-In Sharpening Form from the site. Pack your tools securely, include the form, and ship them to Sharp Edgesā mailing address.
Q2: Which tools do you accept for mail-in sharpening?
A: We sharpen grooming shears, clipper blades, and many other types of blades (e.g. kitchen knives, surgical blades, survival blades). All major brands are accepted.
Q3: How long will it take to get my blades back?
A: Our in-work sharpening typically takes 1ā3 business days. After that, shipping time (via USPS or chosen carrier) applies.
Q4: How does pricing & shipping work?
A: Return shipping is $10 for orders under $100 (sharpening cost).
For orders over $100, return shipping is free (sharpening cost only).
Note: Repair services do not count toward the $100 free-shipping threshold.
Q5: Do you provide an assessment and cleaning?
A: Yes. We perform a multi-stage assessment, clean your tool, sharpen it, test it, and prepare it for return.
Q6: How often should I send in tools for sharpening?
A: For frequently used tools, we recommend every 2ā4 months. The way the tools are used and the material and they are made of will affect the time between sharpening.
Q7: Do you accept foreign / international mail-ins?
A: We only provide service to the US.
Q8: What if my blade is broken or my handle is damaged?
A: We do not perform welding repairs for broken shears or fix damaged handles. Our specialty is sharpening edge performance, not structural repairs.
Q9: How should I package and ship my tools to avoid damage?
A: Use protective packaging (blade guards, bubble wrap), secure the handles so they donāt shift, and include the completed form. Send with a trackable mail service for protection and proof.

Q10: What if my shear iis severely damaged (nicks, chips)?
A: We accept and attempt to restore even chipped or nicked blades to the best possible condition. However, extreme damage may limit achievable restorationāconsult before shipping.
I hope that helps!
