In the coming days, one amateur will be crowned the 126th United States Amateur Champion at the hallowed ground of Merion Golf Club.
A club rich in history… where Bob Jones completed the Grand Slam in 1930, where Ben Hogan struck his immortal 1-iron in the 1950 U.S. Open, and where the iconic wicker baskets have watched over more than a century of championship golf. Merion has now hosted more USGA championships than any other course in America. This week marks the 20th, and the 7th U.S. Amateur staged on the East Course. A fitting stage for the game’s next great story to be written.
