SF Windup Watch Fair ‘24 ⌚️ So many great brands at this event, best place to get acquainted with a brand in person and try on their watches before making a purchase.

A personal highlight was meeting Marc, owner of and creator of His channel and shared knowledge is one of the reasons I went further down this rabbit hole of a hobby 5 years ago (Seiko modding, collecting, etc.) Beau had fun too 🐻

Grand Seiko SBGA415/445. I’ve been wanting to get into the GS brand with a Spring Drive and I was torn between the Snowflake or this Winter edition model, but the 62GS case is what sold me. From its dimensions, bezel less case design, and crystal presence.

I’ve been wanting to add a GMT to my collection and when the Lorier Hyperion Series II released I bought it before the 1st batch sold out. I love the vintage inspired design, case size, roulette date wheel, and the darker colored Pepsi style bezel.

I thought about the Seiko 5 GMT but wanted to get away from that case since I already had a modified “5KX” I even thought about making another custom watch with Seiko’s NH34, but the Hyperion Series II checked all the boxes for me.

My girlfriend and I finally got to fly out to Japan after 3 years of delays 😁 and I’ve had my Japanese Grand Prix tickets since 2020 and we’ll finally be able to go this coming week 🇯🇵🏁 all while being able to potentially see Max win the Championship on Honda’s home ground 🏆
