Eagle Pass Police Department Press Release:

Federal Arrest Made in Eagle Pass Following Multi-Agency Search Warrant

On Wednesday, June 4, 2025, agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, To***co, Fi****ms and Explosives (ATF), assisted by the Eagle Pass Police Gang Unit, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and the U.S. Border Patrol's BORTAC Unit and EPPD K9 Interdiction Units executed a federal search warrant at a residence in the 1700 block of Wilson Street in Eagle Pass, Texas.

During the operation, authorities recovered methamphetamine and ammunition. A male suspect, identified as Benny De La Cerda, was arrested at the scene. He was later transported to the GEO detention facility in Val Verde County.

De La Cerda is facing federal charges under 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(1) for being a felon in possession of fi****ms or ammunition. De La Cerda is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The investigation remains ongoing and is being led by the ATF.

Eagle Pass Police Department Press Release:

On Monday, June 2, 2025, the Eagle Pass Police Department received a report of a 2007 Chevy Corvette stolen from a residence in the 1900 block of Roosevelt Street. Home surveillance footage indicates the theft occurred between 2:00 AM and 3:00 AM.

The vehicle was immediately entered into the TCIC/NCIC database as stolen, and Auto Theft Investigators began their investigation.

Later that evening, at approximately 8:57 PM, a K-9 Interdiction Unit on patrol in the 1300 block of Bryan Street observed a vehicle matching the stolen Corvette's description. The vehicle was found partially concealed under a tarp at an abandoned residence.

Officers queried the vehicle's identification number (VIN), verifying it was the same Corvette reported stolen earlier that day. The vehicle was recovered and towed to the Eagle Pass Police Department, where it will be processed by Auto Theft Investigators.

This incident remains an active investigation.
