Well…this might be the most Minnesota-business comeback story of the week. 🍻➡️🍺

Bauhaus Brew Labs closed. Then ABV Technology — the St. Paul company that literally specializes in removing alcohol from beer — bought it and brought the Northeast Minneapolis taproom back to life.

Bauhaus officially reopened August 15 with a much bigger beverage idea: full-strength beer, lower-alcohol options, NA drinks, THC beverages, cold brew and more. The whole strategy is built around choice instead of “drink or don’t drink.”

And there’s a bigger small-business story underneath it. ABV says it has worked with 200+ beverage brands, helping craft producers make lower- and nonalcoholic products without having to compete with huge national brands entirely on their own. 🍺📈

I actually think this one is pretty clever.

What say you — brilliant brewery evolution or have we overcomplicated happy hour? 😂👇

🎭 From bike shop to $30 MILLION cultural center.

Pangea World Theater has some seriously big plans for its new permanent home at 3020 Minnehaha Ave. in Minneapolis.

The redevelopment is planned in two phases:

🎟️ $6M Phase One
🏛️ 100-seat theater
👥 Offices + community space

🎭 $24M Phase Two
🪑 200-seat theater
🖼️ Gallery + lobby
☀️ Solar
🌎 Geothermal
💧 Water-reclamation systems

Pangea's current campaign page reports about $3.37 million raised toward Phase One, with fundraising targeted for completion by the end of 2026.

And yes — this is the kind of redevelopment I watch as a Realtor. New cultural destinations, businesses, restaurants, trails and public investments can all change how people experience a neighborhood.

What do you think of this one? 👇

🇺🇸➡️🇺🇸 Northern Tool is bringing manufacturing back to Minnesota.

The Burnsville-based company is moving its remaining in-house manufacturing from Mexico to Faribault, where it plans to:

👷 Add 60–70 jobs
🏭 Grow the manufacturing workforce from about 75 to 140–150 people
📈 Increase production around 40%
🛠️ Add plastic injection molding
⚙️ Build products including pressure washers, generators, pumps and log splitters

And this isn't just a future promise — Northern Tool has continued posting new Faribault manufacturing positions in August.

I’m curious about this one: Would you pay a little more for something if you knew more of it was manufactured right here in Minnesota? 👇

UBS is saying goodbye to three Twin Cities offices and hello to one very shiny new Edina address. 👋🏢

The financial giant plans to leave UBS Plaza in downtown St. Paul, the IDS Center in Minneapolis, and its Bloomington office and consolidate into the new Arcadia development in Edina.

UBS is taking roughly 29,126 square feet, CBRE is taking another 15,746, and developer Opus is moving its own headquarters there too.

And here’s the newer number: Arcadia is now reportedly 71% pre-leased with completion expected in December 2026. 👀

That’s pretty interesting in a Twin Cities office market where plenty of older buildings are still begging companies to come back.

Maybe the office isn’t dead.

Maybe the mediocre office is. 😬

What do you think? Are companies permanently shifting toward newer suburban offices, or will downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul eventually make a comeback?

💰 Up to $50,000 toward buying a home?!

GroundBreak Coalition is putting some serious capital behind homeownership and entrepreneurship in the Twin Cities.

🏡 $9.8M helped 200 families with homeownership assistance
💵 About $55M in home value unlocked
🏪 $1M deployed to 24 entrepreneurs in the Business Journal report
🏗️ Nearly $800K had gone toward development financing
🎯 $30 MILLION was the coalition's 2026 deployment target

And GroundBreak's current website now lists 300+ homeowners, 44 businesses and 4 developments, with another 16 projects in the pipeline.

One important local detail: the posted programs focus on the seven-county Twin Cities metro, so Hennepin and Carver are included; Wright County is not currently listed. Eligibility has additional requirements, so don't treat $50K like free money raining from the Minnesota sky. 😂

What do you think — smart way to increase homeownership, or do we need to fix housing prices and supply first? 👇

Well, look who’s back from the dead. 🏗️😏

An 89-unit Northeast Minneapolis apartment project that stalled when interest rates took off in 2022 is officially moving again.

Monarch Development Partners is building the five-story project at 931 Marshall St. NE, across from Graco’s campus.

💰 Roughly $20M total project cost
🏠 89 apartments
🏢 5 stories
🐶 Dog spa + dog run
💻 Coworking lounge
🏋️ Fitness studio
🌆 Sky lounge with downtown + Mississippi River views
🚧 Completion targeted for August 2027

And there’s an interesting bigger-picture takeaway here: developers are starting to dust off projects that stopped making financial sense a few years ago.

That’s something worth watching. 👀

What do you think — more housing exactly where Minneapolis needs it, or enough apartments already?

👇 Tell me in the comments.

💰 What if Minnesota money actually stayed in Minnesota?

The Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation is working toward $100 MILLION across two new investment funds designed to put capital into Minnesota businesses, nonprofits, environmental technology and housing. 🏡🌾💧

One fund targets roughly 8–12% market-rate returns while the other targets about 1% and focuses more heavily on community impact.

And yes — housing is part of this.

One of the investments is Greater Minnesota Housing Fund, which helps finance affordable housing throughout the state. Another is Minneapolis PFAS-tech company Claros Technologies, which has since announced a whopping $55M financing round.

Could keeping more investment capital inside Minnesota ultimately help our communities grow without completely pricing people out? THAT is the interesting part. 👀

What do you think — more Minnesota money invested in Minnesota? Yes or no? 👇

🏒 Wild hockey is changing channels… again.

But this time, the Minnesota Wild are taking control.

Starting with the 2026–27 season, the team is launching its own multimedia television network with NHL Productions handling production.

📺 Cable and satellite
📱 Direct-to-consumer streaming coming
🆓 Select games available FREE over the air
🏒 17 games already scheduled for national TV

The interesting part? The Wild now control their own distribution and advertising inventory instead of simply collecting a rights fee from a regional sports network.

One thing we’re STILL waiting for: exact local channel information and streaming pricing. So Minnesota hockey fans, hold onto that remote for now. 😂

Would free local Wild broadcasts change how much hockey you watch?

👇 Tell me in the comments.

Original reporting: Alex Silverman and Keith Schubert, Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal / Sports Business Journal. Updated with August 26 information from the Minnesota Wild.

Target said, “Beyoncé style… but make it under $50.” 😂🎯👗

Designer Rosie Assoulin — whose celebrity clients include Beyoncé and Rihanna — teamed up with Minnesota-based Target for a limited collection of fashion, accessories AND home goods.

And this isn't just Target tossing another cute dress on an endcap.

Target has been deliberately leaning back into the thing that helped build the whole “Tar-zhay” reputation in the first place: affordable design people actually get excited about. 🎯

The strategy may be getting some traction, too. Target's latest Q2 numbers showed:

⬆️ Net sales: 5.3%
⬆️ Comparable sales: 3.8%
⬆️ Customer traffic: 3.6%
⬆️ Digital sales: 8.7%

So… is Target officially getting its groove back?

And more importantly — did anybody actually snag something from this collection? 👀 Tell me what you bought.
