a painting that explores the “weight of absence” and the profound beauty found in holding back. Part of my ongoing series, this piece captures the quiet power of self-discipline amidst longing.

Her red dress demands attention, but her gaze holds a silent story: After a deep conversation with my muse said in my last post, she concluded:

“Beauty is a blessing, and so also it’s a curse.”

That quote became the soul of this painting. A complex truth, expressed in oil. I used fire-red and a solitary orange rose to capture that tension and desire, the visible splendor vs the silent weight of being truly seen.
Looking into her eyes... what does her silence speak to you?
