...FOGGY START TO THE DAY...
[9.26.25 6:05 A.M.]

We are waking up to areas of patchy dense fog. Not all areas are seeing it. Here at our station in the city of Delaware it is pretty foggy with less than 1 mile visibility.

After the fog burns off later this morning. Skies will start out cloudy and then become sunny through the afternoon. Temperatures will warm into the upper 70's.

Dry and pleasant weather is expected tomorrow and into Sunday. However, this dry spell will last through the end of next week as of right now.

Today: Foggy. Cloudy this morning. Sunny this afternoon. High 77.

Tonight: Clear and cool. Low 52.

Saturday: Sunny and mild. High 80.

Saturday night: Clear and cool. Low 51.

Sunday: Sunny and mild. High 83.

Have a great Friday!

…A SHIFT TOWARD QUIETER WEATHER…
[09.25.25 6:00 P.M.]

Hi friends! As we head into the evening hours, an upper-level disturbance will continue to slide eastward. This has helped spark some cloud cover and spotty showers across the region today, but the good news is that drier conditions are on the horizon.

Looking ahead, high pressure will gradually build in, setting us up for a stretch of calmer and more seasonable weather. While we can’t rule out a stray sprinkle here or there, most of us will enjoy dry skies as we head into the weekend and beyond.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy early with a few lingering sprinkles possible, especially east of I-71. Skies will slowly clear overnight. Lows near 58.

Friday: Sunshine returns with just a few passing clouds. A touch of humidity lingers, but rain chances stay minimal. Highs around 77.

Friday night: Mostly clear, low near 56.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, light breeze, and comfortable. Highs near 75.

Saturday night: Clear, low 56.

Sunday: Another beautiful day with lots of sunshine and seasonable warmth. Highs around 78.

Enjoy your evening!

..RAIN SHOWERS MOVING OUT LATER TODAY...
[9.25.25 5:50 A.M.]

Rain showers were ongoing this morning across most of our coverage area. Mostly sprinkles, drizzle, & light rain. The heaviest rain is remaining well south of I-70 and will stay that way for the rest of today.

As high pressure begins to settle into the area. It will take a day to shake the clouds from the previous system. However, we do anticipate a great weather weekend with plenty of sunshine and comfortable temperatures.

Today: Drizzle and light rain this morning. Otherwise, becoming sunny this afternoon. High 75. The chance of rain is 50%.

Tonight: Partly cloudy and cool. Not as humid. Low 53.

Friday: Partly cloudy and pleasant. High 76.

Friday night: Clear and cool. Low 52.

Saturday: Sunny and mild. High 80.

Have a great Thursday!

…SOMEWHAT RAINY THROUGH TOMORROW—SOAK IT UP WHILE WE CAN… [9/24/2025 5:35 PM]

Low pressure continues to dominate our weather today and overnight with scattered showers and cloudy skies. Heavier, more concentrated areas of precipitation and storm risk will be more south and east of the I-71 corridor tonight and tomorrow. The map I posted shows projected precipitation in the wee hours overnight.

For Friday, we will have some cool, dry air move in. Over the weekend the temperatures will be warmer than average (not by much though) and most likely dry. This kicks off another extended period of dry weather.

TONIGHT: Cloudy with occasional showers. Low in the mid 60s.

THURSDAY: Cloudy with some showers. Highs in the low 70s.

THURSDAY NIGHT: Cloudy, cooler. Low in the mid 50s.

FRIDAY: Partly cloudy, high in the mid 70s.

I hope everyone has a nice, pleasant evening!

...A PERIOD OF DRY AND WARM WEATHER TO RETURN...
[9.24.25 6:00 A.M.]

Last night's models didn't quite handle the amount of rain that was expected today. Although, I did mention that the bulk would remain along south and east of I-71. Most of the decent rain has remained in that area and the rain arrived sooner than expected.

Another area of rain is expected tonight. However, model trends have been keeping the bulk and heaviest rain south of I-70. I feel that this may be the case. There are also some hints that it may even be further south than what it shows now. Along and south of the Ohio River. Just isolated showers around here.

After this system pushes out of the area. It appears as if we may enter into another period of above normal temperatures and well below normal precipitation.

Today: A chance of showers this morning. A chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. High 72. The chance of rain is 70%.

Tonight: Scattered showers. A chance of a thunderstorm before midnight. Low 61. The chance of rain is 30%.

Thursday: A chance of showers. High 75. The chance of rain is 30%.

Thursday night: A chance of drizzle. Cooler. Low 54. The chance of rain is 20%.

Friday: Sunny with a slight chance of a shower in the afternoon. High 74. The chance of rain is 20%.

Have a great Wednesday!

...MORE RAIN AND STORMS POSSIBLE BY MORNING...
[9.23.25 8:55 P.M.]

After a lull in the rain since late morning. More showers and storms are expected to arrive by late tonight through sunrise. These showers and storms will persist through the morning rush into the early afternoon hours. Most areas should see up to 0.50 to 1" of rain. Some isolated areas that see repeated rounds of heavy rain could see up to 2". Right now, the heaviest rain is expected to be along and southeast of I-71.

After the first round of rain pushes through tomorrow. Another round of showers and storms are expected to develop. Some of these storms could be strong to severe. Depending on when the first-round exits will depend on what we will see develop later in the day tomorrow.

We are under a Marginal Risk for strong to severe storms tomorrow. I feel the area that sees the best threat for severe weather will be along and southeast of I-71.

I'll have another update tomorrow morning. Make sure you allow extra driving time in the morning as the showers and storms are expected to be ongoing.

The images attached are the future radar from now until Wednesday night. The other image shows the amount of rain that is expected through Thursday morning.

Have a great night!

…STORMY WEATHER WILL RETURN TOMORROW… [9/23/2025 5:00PM]

Certainly is humid today! We can’t complain too much though, since we’ve needed the rain we got yesterday.

And we will continue to get some decent rain tomorrow. The southern half of the state is in the marginal risk category for severe weather once again.

Rain coverage will gradually decrease toward the end of the week. We will hear mowers fire up again over the weekend, I’m sure.

TONIGHT: Humid, clouds increasing with a chance of showers by daybreak. Lows in the mid 60s.

WEDNESDAY: Showers and thunderstorms throughout the day. Some storms could have damaging winds and heavy rain. Highs in the low 70s.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Cloudy with scattered showers. Lows in the mid 60s.

THURSDAY: Mostly cloudy, humid. Highs in the mid 70s.

Enjoy your evening! We will keep a close eye on storm development tomorrow.

...A DRIER DAY TODAY BUT MORE RAIN & STORMS TOMORROW...
[9.23.25 6:05 A.M.]

After an inch of rain yesterday. We'll see much lesser amounts across the coverage area today. Most areas will see periods of drizzle and fog this morning.

Another round of showers and storms will return to the area by tomorrow morning. Models are hinting at another 1-2" of rain tomorrow into Thursday. I've attached the GFS model run on the amount of rain that is possible through the end of the week.

Temperatures will remain at or slightly above normal through the end of the week.

How much rain did you see yesterday? Share below.

Have a great Tuesday!

Today: Areas of fog and drizzle this morning. Becoming mostly sunny this afternoon. A slight chance of a shower or storm. High 80. The chance of rain is 20%.

Tonight: Partly cloudy with a chance of a shower towards sunrise. Low 60. The chance of rain is 20%.

Wednesday: Rain likely. A chance of thunderstorms. High 75. The chance of rain is 80%.

Wednesday night: Rain likely. Low 61. The chance of rain is 80%.

Thursday: Cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. High 74. The chance of rain is 50%.

...UPDATE ON STRONG TO SEVERE STORMS...
[9.22.25 8:10 P.M.]

Showers and thunderstorms that have been in our area over the past few hours are finally pushing off to the east. The severe weather has mostly been confined to southern Ohio this evening where a couple of tornado warnings were issued. No confirmed touchdowns yet.

I feel as if our severe weather threat has passed.

We'll see isolated showers and a storm overnight.

We received 0.97" of rain since midnight here at our official station in the city of Delaware.

We'll have an updated forecast tomorrow morning as more chances of rain and storms will be in the forecast through Thursday.

Attached is the current radar as of 8:10 P.M. All the red dots you see is our storm spotter network. Each dot represents a certified storm spotter where the NWS can contact to get current conditions if needed. One way we try to help out our community to stay safe during hazardous weather.

…CONTINUED WET PATTERN WITH GRADUALLY COOLING TEMPS THROUGH THE WEEK… [9/22/2025 5:00 PM]

Grateful for this unsettled weather, just so long as we don’t have much damage from the storms popping up.

Low pressure spread across the area slowly moves eastward this week, but overall a stalled pattern brings cool and wet to us through the coming weekend.

Today, the precipitation has been concentrated west of I-71. Tomorrow the bulk of the rain will be east of the I-71 corridor, after a more quiet period in the morning.

Models do not all agree on the distribution of precipitation as the week goes on. What we do know: it will be cooler, there will be rain, and severe potential is pretty low.

TONIGHT: Humid and overcast with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm. Low in the mid 60s.

TUESDAY: Cloudy and humid with rain and thunderstorms later in the day. Highs around 80.

TUESDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy with some showers. Lows in the mid 60s.

WEDNESDAY: Partly cloudy with showers and storms. Highs in the low 70s.

Have a great evening everyone!

…DEVELOPING INFORMATION ON THE SEVERE WEATHER POTENTIAL… [9/22/2025 1:40 PM]

The National Weather Service has published a Mesoscale Discussion for our area.

As a summary, a disturbance with precipitation is moving from the southwest from southern Indiana. There are strong winds associated with this disturbance, and together with clearing skies ahead of it will pave the way for development of strong to severe storms. Some lines of storms could have weak rotation as they move through the area later this afternoon. Keep an eye on the radar and have multiple ways of receiving alerts. Hail is a possibility as well; Joe drove through some dime sized hail in Delaware County a little while ago!

…INCREASING RISK FOR SEVERE WEATHER TODAY… [9/22/2025 10:25AM]

The National Weather Service has upgraded our severe weather risk for today to the “slight” category. Increasing instability and strong winds associated with a trough will allow for development of strong storms, especially as our atmosphere heats up. Strong, damaging winds will be the biggest threat with these storms.

There is currently a complex of storms to our southwest. If those manage to miss us on their journey northward, our atmosphere will be primed for some severe weather this afternoon.

We will keep an eye on developments and keep you posted. Have multiple ways of receiving alerts!
