Hey all, those over on the eastern side of the city of Delaware, did you see or hear anything? Based off what I saw, there was some decent rotation for about a scan and a half. Just curious!

…SOME SCATTERED SHOWERS AND STORMS THIS EVENING…. [7/28/2025 5:15PM]

We are seeing storms popping up in the area late this afternoon. There is a slim but non-zero chance that we could get some strong winds and small hail with some of these. The air is quite saturated, and any storms that develop will have heavy rain potential.

Looking forward to tomorrow morning, the saturated air near the ground will again support some fog formation, so be sure to allow enough time for your commute.

A Heat Advisory will be in effect for tomorrow, so be sure to limit time outdoors if possible.

TONIGHT: Scattered showers and storms, some with heavy rain. Precipitation will dwindle overnight. Lows in the low 70s.

TUESDAY: Patchy morning fog. A chance for thunderstorm development as the day progresses. Heat Advisory is in effect until 8:00PM. Highs in the low 90s with heat indices above 100.

TUESDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy and humid. Lows in the low 70s.

WEDNESDAY: Possibility of strong thunderstorms later in the day. Highs in the mid to upper 80s.

Keep cool tonight and tomorrow. Hang in there, as a stretch of dry weather and cooler air is coming.

...ANOTHER MUGGY START TO THE DAY...
[7.28.25 6:00 A.M.]

The air is thick out there this morning. Skies are generally clear across the area. However, there have been some reports of fog. Therefore, take caution when heading off to work this morning as you may encounter some low visibilities.

Hot and humid weather will persist through Wednesday. A cold front will finally bring some relief to the area. High temperatures will be around 80 this coming weekend with lower humidity.

Until then expect isolated showers and storms once again today. Remember these storms can produce very heavy.

…HEAT AND HUMIDITY TO CONTINUE THROUGH MID WEEK, AN EARLY AUTUMN PREVIEW ON DECK FOR THE BEGINNING OF AUGUST…. [7/27/25 5:00PM]

The high pressure ridge centered over the southeast US continues to hold the frontal boundary over our state. This is keeping the unsettled weather in play through at least overnight Wednesday. As the ridge slides westward, our flow will switch from westerly to northwesterly, allowing the front to advance and usher in cooler and drier air beginning Thursday night. That will be a welcome change!

TONIGHT: Humid, some lingering showers (but not the beating we’ve been experiencing this weekend!). Low in the low 70s.

MONDAY: Hot and very humid, highs in the low 90s and heat index around 100. A heat advisory could be in play, but take it easy and hydrate no matter what. Afternoon showers and storms will pop up but won’t be widespread.

MONDAY NIGHT: Muggy and humid, lows in the low 70s.

TUESDAY: More heat, humidity, and pop up storms. Highs in the low 90s with heat index around 100.

Stay safe out there! Is anyone experiencing flooding problems? Feel free to post about it and share some photos!

…PRECIPITATION DISCUSSION FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE…
[7/27/25 12:43PM]

The NWS has published a precipitation discussion for a large part of our forecast area. The radar has lit up with widespread showers and storms.

Due to the training nature of these storms, some locations will be hit with multiple rounds of heavy rain, resulting in rainfall totals up to 3-4”. We can expect some flood warnings today.

Be careful, and do not drive through flooded roads.

…YES, MORE OF THE SAME TODAY AND ONGOING THROUGH MIDWEEK… [7/27/2025 6:30 AM]

Yesterday’s late-day storms brought heavy rains (flooding south of our area) and quite the lightning show for some of us. My home rain gauge read 0.61” for the day in Westerville.

This morning, we will get some rumbles of thunder from storm remains passing along the north edge of the forecast area.

The high-pressure dome persists in the southeast US, allowing for the westerly flow and unsettled weather along the Ohio Valley. Expect to see the possibility of heavy rain and storms with strong winds today through Wednesday. A shift in the high-pressure center will allow cool, dry Canadian air to bring us a lovely end to the week.

TODAY: Afternoon and evening storms with heavy rain potential, especially south. Humid with highs in the mid 80s.

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy and humid, lows in the low 70s.

MONDAY: Partly sunny, hot and humid with pop up thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs around 90.

MONDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy and humid, lows in the low 70s.

TUESDAY: Partly sunny, hot and humid. Highs in the low 90s with heat indices in the 100s. Afternoon thunderstorms are possible.

Stay cool, stay safe! We will keep an eye on the development of hazardous weather and keep you informed.
