In 2005, Mustard Seed Publishing started as it acquired The Delhi Express from MidValley Publications. John Derby and his publishing company had The Delhi Express operating from 1965 until then. He believed strongly in the importance of local journalism and "the power of positive press." I (Rebekah) learned a lot from him, having worked for him previously. I was a freelance reporter for the Waterford News before being named Editor of The Delhi Express and later The Hilmar Times. Local communities lost a tremendous partner this month.
