At about 1 year old and 45 pounds, Onyx is a gorgeous, sweet boy searching for the patient and loving forever home he deserves.

Onyx can be nervous around strangers, loud noises and unfamiliar situations, but give him time to feel safe and his affectionate personality shines. He loves curling up on the couch, sleeping beside his person and soaking up all the love from someone he trusts. ❤️

He also loves cats, is about 90% potty trained and would thrive in a quiet, child-free home with a fenced yard. Another friendly dog could also help show him that the world isn’t such a scary place.
Onyx has already been let down twice. This time, he needs someone who will stay.

Historic Smithville Park will once again be illuminated with captivating light displays and original artwork for a festival celebrating contemporary and traditional art, music, poetry, and other creative performances during the 2026 Arts After Dark festival.

The Mount Laurel Public Education Fund (MLPEF) will host their 29th annual golf classic at Ramblewood Country Club on Friday, Oct. 16. Registration and lunch will begin at 11:30 a.m. with a sh***un start at 1 p.m.

“We know that there are so many students who really benefit from our afterschool programs,” said Keisha Taylor, president of the MLPEF. “Out-of-school activities are very important for your social and emotional development and it’s important to continue having those, and we know that we want to be able to support the district and not necessarily have a cost that could be inhibiting to some of our students.”

The golf classic will include dinner, cocktails, prizes and, as always, community support for the township’s public schools. Sponsorship opportunities are available through the MLPEF website, as well as golf and/or dinner and cocktail hour registration, which will begin at 5 p.m.

The Mount Laurel Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodge 191 and the Mount Laurel Professional Firefighters Association IAFF Local 4408 will host their annual 9/11 memorial golf outing at the Golden Pheasant Country Club in Lumberton on Friday, Sept. 11.

“It just so happened that this year, the stars aligned,” said Administrative Sgt. Aaron Harty of the Mount Laurel Township Police Department, also the president of the Mount Laurel FOP Lodge 191. Before he transitioned into his role as administrative sergeant, Harty spent 13 years on patrol and six years in the detective bureau. While each role has different responsibilities, each one has been fulfilling, Harty shared.

With the golf outing falling on the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, this year is a special way to keep the memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice alive. Harty expressed, “It’s huge for us and we love it, but it’s also good to recognize and keep the memory of 9/11 alive.
