🎉 Visual Adjectives Finds New Creative Home on Historic NW 5th Avenue!

Join us in celebrating the ribbon-cutting of Visual Adjectives, the family-owned publishing and production studio, now thriving in the beautifully restored Harvel Cottage at 186 NW 5th Ave in Delray Beach’s “The Set” district. This move marks a pivotal moment for both the company and the community.

📌 Spotlight on Visual Adjectives
• An independent creative collective of publishers, actors, teachers, and artists, Visual Adjectives mentors aspiring authors, illustrators, and poets with full-service publishing and production support  .
• Michelle Lawrence, co-founder, shared: “The opportunity to connect with people interested in the arts… means a great deal to be involved in the culture and creative lifestyle of the Arts Warehouse.” 

🏠 A Historic, Community-Centered Space
• The Harvel Cottage, built in 1937 and relocated in 2010, is part of the CRA’s historic redevelopment on NW 5th Ave .
• Nestled among other creative incubators in the Arts Warehouse, Visual Adjectives now enjoys a public-facing workspace to host workshops, critiques, and meetups .

• The celebratory event took place on June 23, 2025, at 5 PM, drawing community members, CRA staff, and local creatives to mark this exciting new chapter .

What a week! 🌟

We’re still basking in the glow of our ribbon cutting and soft opening celebration at our new location! It was more than just an event—it was a moment in time we’ll never forget.

A heartfelt thank you to our friends at the Delray CRA who showed up in a BIG way to help us mark this milestone. From inspiring speeches to shared memories (and a few tears), the day was filled with love, gratitude, and purpose. We especially honor the memory of our beloved angel Edward, whose legacy continues to guide and watch over us.

We are deeply grateful to Commissioner Angela Burns, the Delray CRA, our Board Members, staff, interns, and the many friends and family who joined us. Your presence made this celebration even more meaningful.

Say hello to Endear Straghn, one of our incredible summer interns from the Purpose Pays Internship Program! She’s a senior at Atlantic Community High School, and she brings a quiet strength and thoughtful spirit to our team.

Three words that describe Endear? Empathetic, introverted, and open-minded—all the perfect qualities for someone pursuing her dream of becoming a therapist for kids. Her passion for helping others and trying new things makes her a valuable part of the Visual Adjectives family.

Malachi Smith is one of our amazing summer interns from the Purpose Pays Internship Program! A rising junior at Village Academy, Malachi is eager, introspective, and always ready to communicate new ideas.

When he’s not helping bring stories to life with Visual Adjectives, he’s dreaming big—his future goal is to become a Cardiologist! 🫀🩺 We have no doubt he’ll change lives both through art and heart.

Fun fact: One of Malachi’s ears is pointy, which we think makes him even more unique—and possibly a superhero in disguise. 🦸🏾‍♂️💥

On this Juneteenth, we celebrate not just the end of slavery in the United States, but the unshakable spirit of a people who turned pain into poetry, struggle into strength, and history into stories that still shape our world today.

At Visual Adjectives, we believe in the power of storytelling to liberate, to heal, and to ignite change. Our stories matter. Our words matter. And our freedom includes the right to write our narratives—boldly, truthfully, and unapologetically.

As we reflect on Juneteenth, we honor the voices of Black authors, artists, and creatives who’ve used their pens and brushes as tools of resistance, education, and inspiration.
