Vile Productions brought this brutal quartet down to the nexus of Metal & Punk in Miami and capped off a superb week for Churchills and our scene. As the first person who ever answered a question or gave Classic Steel the time of day, we will always be indebted to Elsie & Vile - not just as a promoter, but as a fan who’s been out here for more than 20 years at this point.

VIRULENCE opened the salvo - with frontman Chris Defaut putting together a spirited performance despite some challenges to his vocal folds. Not sure how someone can barely talk but belt out vocals to new and old tunes the way he did, but that’s why he’s that dude. Great seeing the rest of the guys too! They have been, and continue to be a band to watch as a representative of Florida’s best emerging DM bands.

MysteryxMeat came next - complete with the 🐸 vocals and heavy set man with the waterfall mullet and pro wrestling cut off. As someone who travels across oceans and spends thousands of dollars to enjoy this music, it was a beautiful thing to see some US Pornogrind just a few miles from home. Thank you MysteryxMeat, for reminding us that Americans can be disgusting and perverted too! Bonus points for the pool noodles.

A**l Stabwound - what a title! A hypersonic, blasttastic BDM delivery expected from a NSE band. Though I may have imbibed too much with the devil’s lettuce and ordered two plates of banan peze during their set. Lastly, NYDM legends Malignancy performed before my eyes for the very first time. Charismatic, Brutal, technical, and featuring the fingerblasting Chris D on the 5-string, this was a treasure to see on a Sunday night and a wonderful close to what I’m sure was a successful 3-day weekender in the ☀️ State!
PS - I was impressed by the quality, freshness, and flavor of the banan peze - as a former line cook, you can tell the oil was fresh, the plantains were crisp, and the pikliz was on fire! Great job to the kitchen.
