The Barnstable Police and Hyannis fire departments are dealing with a major gas line rupture off of Route 28 to the rear of the Cape Cod Mall. Please seek an alternate route and avoid the area if possible. National Grid is currently on scene as attempting to shut the gas service off and repair the line.

The Yarmouth Select Board held their first meeting with newly elected members Joyce Flynn and Tracy Post to nominate board members for various committees. While most committee and liaison positions were filled unceremoniously, the DY Contract Negotiations seat garnered comment from Flynn and Post, who were both nominated. Dozens of Santas, elves, and Mrs. Clauses gathered at the Cape Cod Irish Village Emerald Resort in Hyannis to share Christmas tips, techniques, and ideas during the off-season. Celebrating its 20th year, we stopped by the Santa Convention to see if we could catch some holiday cheer to carry us through the summer.

The Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce hosted their second annual Big Blue Conference last week at the Cape Cod Gateway Airport. This event offered the opportunity to hear from local leaders in green technology and innovation about work happening in our community to address the effects of climate change.
