Did you know that while breast cancer affects women of all backgrounds, women of color—especially Black and Hispanic women—often face higher mortality rates and unique barriers to care? Early detection and equitable access to treatment are crucial for saving lives. Let’s use our voices this month to raise awareness, advocate for resources, and support research that addresses disparities in breast cancer outcomes. Do you know how can you support those currently battling breast cancer in your community? Consider volunteering at local events, participating in awareness walks, or offering emotional support to someone going through treatment. Look for a local breast cancer support group or charity and consider donating your time or resources this month. Small gestures, such as sending a thoughtful card or preparing a meal, can have a big impact on someone’s day. Your involvement can provide much-needed support and encouragement to those affected, showing them they are not alone.
