Dead Milkmen - Big Lizard In My Backyard custom transferred for a guy. What a great album. Enjoyed hearing it again while recording. Loved designing this one several years ago. The album cover was perfect for doing a horizontal panoramic wraparound label. Spent a LONG time in Photoshop extending the tail and background to reach the far end of the back label without looking too doctored. Probably 2 seconds with AI assistance today, ha, which I won't partake of btw. Was excited way back when to showcase this one. 5 years later ..but hey, just in time for the June 1985 release 40th anniversary! Ha

Looking at the date I put on the label or 2021 is humorously depressing. That means that I would have designed this in late 2020 or early 2021 thinking that I'd be done with it by the end of the year and the date would be relevant. What a terrible and naive projection. Ha, I guess I'm at the point of challenging the notion of "better late than never" right?

Have a couple extra of these Foo Fighters - Medicine At Midnight custom 8 track transfers. This was one that a guy commissioned a few years ago. He is actually acquainted with Grohl and wanted an extra besides his to send along to Dave. Which he did. I had made a few others in case Grohl requested more for some reason. As relayed to me, he thought the 8T of his band's then latest release was "very cool", end of story. Ha.

80s Emerson cassette player/recorder/3 speed turntable/radio/stereo receiver combo with original speakers. In barely used condition. Comes with owners manual. $175 shipped in US. Let me know,

Appreciate everyone that has picked up all the vintage audio items I've put up for sale from my storage unit, in an effort to downsize it. Only a couple things that haven't sold, including this cool piece. A hardly used mid 80s combo system. I think I had the price too high a few months ago, so brought it down a bit. I made some test recordings from vinyl to cassette and was surprised how good they sound. This of course is no high end vinyl or cassette player, but sounds great for what it is. If you have a kid who you want to start getting into vintage formats or want a slimline and lightweight system to put in an office or workshop, then this is for you.

Toshiba KT-80 8 track player. The only Toshiba deck I've encountered. Pulled from storage with note saying belt replaced, relubed/cleaned the parts and fixed an electronic issue. Tested it and sounded so good and clear that I didn't want to sell. But I have enough and maybe one of you wants a great working/sounding basic no frills deck. Has stereo RCA leads hard wired out of it vs plugging your own in. $125 including shipping in the US. Let me know.

Ok, I suppose it's update time as I haven't been active here for a few months. Had a few unrelated medical issues that popped up at once that I've been dealing with for the last 3-4 months. Including a few procedures, an eye and abdominal surgery and constant appointments in December. Fortunately, am on Medicaid and all were things able to be fixed/came back negative. In getting my blood pressure taken so many times they determined, that due to symptoms I described, it's been resting at 140+/110ish since the pandemic. Which is bad. High bad cholesterol as well. I'm skinny and a vegetarian for 30 years so the doctor said it was stress and being sedentary that did it, perhaps Covid as well. Thats been me for sure, though.

I started trying to be a healthier vegetarian, and going on 1-2 hour walks every day in Jan post-surgery to see if that made a difference. Vs the medication they were suggesting. After 3 weeks, started to see a difference. Got a home blood pressure unit and my resting went down to 130/100ish. A week later it was down to 125/90, and after another week its stayed around 110/75ish. The cardiologist did a 24hr monitor and confirmed it is back down to my pre-pandemic "normal". Now, trying to keep the walking habit going so it doesnt slip back up again. I encourage anyone who reads this to walk every day if you've let yourself get sedentary, to keep the problems of that plus aging at bay.

Had hoped to finish a couple of bigger projects in December but got sidelined even more than I already am. Last thing I need are more delays. Been getting back to tape work as I can with the other health stuff mind.

Been laying low on social media but working on tapes everyday as I can. Needing to get back in dealing with these boxes here from my storage unit of things to sell so that I can downsize to a cheaper unit. Pulled this one out. Beautiful condition combo unit from the 80s. The note on it said I had replaced the belts, repaired, lubed and cleaned it up. Gave it a test and it works great. Recorded a vinyl record to the built in cassette and was impressed with the quality. This is a very slimline/low profile unit for the features it has. Sliding lid. Perfect for a small space if you've been wanting to get into cassette and vinyl in one move. Or to get a second set up for a different room, workshop or office than your main rig. Or to give one of your kids for xmas to start them on the right audio path. This thing is so cute I wanna keep it for some reason. Ha. But am overstocked on this stuff..

Run DMC self titled first album from 1984 custom transferred to 8 track. And Happy 40th to it, btw. Love the way this turned out. The custom slipbox especially was fun to design,

I think this is the oldest outstanding order I have. 4 years ago this month. Well, still have a Public Enemy tape to finish for him too. He ordered a bunch of stuff back then and I've gotten most of it to him over the years. He told me that it was cool if I did other projects ahead of his and I have. But have had the labels and box printed and sitting there for a year (as is the same with several other projects), so wanted to take a moment and get it off the table

For Sale. Beautiful, hardly used, high-end sounding/functioning 8 track player-recorder. Repaired and refurbished Olympic RTD-40. The head looks new. $200 shipped, in the US. Leave a comment if interested and I'll DM you for details.

Went to my storage unit yesterday looking for something and ran across this. Have had it my hoard for awhile. Olympic is a secret top-shelf sounding 70s no-name brand. Was hanging on to it for that reason, but I'm not getting any younger and realistically will probably never use it since I have so many other good ones with more options. Has a basic record funtion and a good frequency response. Some decks have noisy circuits but this has a big preamp section that filters noise out for a tight snap to the sound. A few years ago I went through it lubing and spraying contacts/connections, cleaning the belt and inside/outside of the deck, as well as aligning and cleaning the head/capstan/tape path. So I knew it worked, but gave it a test to make sure it is still does. God, it sounds good.. listening to a few tapes while working made me not want sell it, ha, but I will. Has in/out RCA Jack's in the back and a headphone jack in the front, which is handy. If you're looking to get into 8 track with a deck that doesn't sound mediocre then this one is for you

Slugbug - Pointless Journey on 8 track. One more tape to make and I'll have all the ancient bandcamp orders out of the way and off the plate. This album, a Dead Media Tapes release from 2019 on reel and 8 track. An album by my friend Paul Millar who originally recorded and CDr released it in 2009. Anyone who knows Paul knows he's quickly the master of anything that suits his fancy. Nervous-wave music and repairing vintage tape and synth machines, being what he's gravitated toward.

This being an older style slipbox I used to do, i usually make a white slipcase to put the label on. But this time, wanted to try clear plastic. Maybe the whit would be better for this tape and the clear for a more colorful shell.. What do you think? I like it as an option.

Paul recorded this album on a tascam 488 cassette multitrack, which is amazing considering the studio tricks and effects he used, and the level of quality he achieved. Hear it to believe it.

Primus - Pork Soda custom 8 track tape, slipbox and insert booklet, for a guy in.. Finland?.. Sweden?.. I forget which one, offhand. This album was clearly made for the 8 track format. Not only does it look amazing, but the sound is incredibly crisp and clear. One more thing to make for the sizeable order of this and many other custom tranfers he ordered years ago will finally be ready to ship internationally. Can't wait to see how much that will cost with weight going overseas! Ha

Faith No More - Angel Dust custom transferred to 8 track for a customer that ordered this service years ago. Looking and sounding fantastic here in 8 track glory. This is one of those albums that visually and sonically seems to transfer well to the format than some others.

I finished the designs and had the materials printed a long time ago but didn't have the audio to finish the job. This brings up a point I want to mention. There are several projects in this state, where I have stuff printed but no audio to record. In the perfect custom transfer scenario, the customer should be providing the audio. But most haven't, as it is not within their capability to create and send audio FLAC or WAV files. I settled for having them send pics of them holding their hard copies for proof and said I'd try to locate the audio myself. I had a couple friends going for a while that were able to find this or that album as needed, but has become less consistent. Finally was able to get a copy of this album to use to finish the project.

I am not a streaming music service type person and know very little about them (besides basic youtube). They are of no interest to me personally and figuring out how to use them is a hurdle that I'm too busy to want to jump over. Or pay a subscription for. The devices I use are from the early '10s and can't receive updates. I have no interest in upgrading or investing in a new laptop that will accommodate newer software/update/services. In fact, I resent the idea of having to get something newer because a company is forcing me out of an older device due to incompatible updates. The Adobe CS4 and 5 in my two laptops work just fine and I don't have to pay for a subscription. Will be honest, in that if you've ordered a custom and haven't provided audio files, those projects tend to fall behind ones from around the same time that have. It's just an extra hassle (that I've been ok with going through as I can) to stop working on tapes and track down audio files to use for the recording

A 5" reel w/insert sheet I made a year for more ago but didn't post. They Might Be Giants - Book. 4-track stereo 7.5ips. Did the reel layout for it a couple years earlier when I had covid during the pandemic. Same time as the Com Truise reel. Was messing with doing a smaller reel format than the regular 7 inch. Had planned to send a couple of these along when I finished the 8 track run for the band, but was in the process of moving and didn't have time to get labels printed. Need to mail these to their label. Ha.

Another mini reel I made a while back but didn't post about. Metallica - Master Of Puppets, on tiny 3" stereo tape reel recorded at 3.75ips. Was doing some R&D for another project and looking for some old unused custom 8 track labels I had that didn't have any "8 track" text on the front/back covers AND where I had not rearranged the original track sequence. This one was perfect to test out a different style of box-making/labeling and using .5mil thickness tape running at 3.75ips, this 56min album fits just fine. Turned out and sounds great. Cracker for scale.
