Well I’m glad she didn’t die! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ A few tries at standing up didn’t quite work out β€” but no worries! She is NOT a quitter. When she couldn’t get up, she just rode the waves anyway. So freeing, so fun. πŸ’›

Happy heavenly birthday πŸŽ‚πŸ•ŠοΈ to my wonderful dad. Yesterday he would have turned 87 πŸŽ‰, and I still can't believe how quickly the years slip by β³πŸ’­.

This past weekend we gathered πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦πŸ’• and enjoyed all of his favorites β€” black licorice πŸ–€, Mentos πŸŒ€, Necco wafers 🍬, and Good & Plenty's 🍭. Funny how a handful of old-fashioned candy 🍫 can bring someone so vividly back into a room ✨. It felt like he was right there with us πŸ₯ΉπŸ’™.

Some people don't really leave us, even when they're gone 🌈. I feel your love and your example every single day, Dad πŸ™πŸ’«. Thank you for the man you were and the family you helped build πŸ‘ͺ❀️.

πŸ“š A big SHOUT-OUT to teachers this week β€” so many are heading back to school, including my daughter Janae Sled! Who wouldn't want to be in this darling classroom...lucky students!

Watching her create beautiful bulletin boards, make name tags, collect supplies for every student, make countless Amazon orders, and laminate everything in sight (with a cute little grandbaby on my hip helping out!)... it takes me right back. Thank you for sacrificing family time for other people's children β€” the late nights, the worry, the living on caffeine. I see you, teachers. Bless you! You have hearts of gold that make a real difference in so many lives. πŸ’›

My own love of teaching started with my third grade teacher β€” I'm forever grateful for her example. It shaped my whole path.

And this fall? I get to start "Grandma School" with my three-year-old granddaughter! 🍎 I can hardly wait to pull out all the fun preschool lessons I wrote and taught over my 17+ years running my own preschool. Different classroom, same joy.

Family time is the best time β€” especially when your kids are stepping into new places and new adventures. I don't want to miss a moment. πŸ’›

Haven't posted for a bit... and that's okay! ☺️ Get ready for some fun adventures, shout outs, and moments with God from this past week. Life got full in the best way: helping my daughter with classroom prep, soaking up grandbaby time, a salad social, baby showers, a faith walk, family history work, temple attendance, quality time with my kids, a 50th wedding anniversary celebration, a wedding, lounging by the pool, meals shared, and actual sleep. 😴

Unplugged from social media... zero regrets. πŸ™Œ

Good, better, best β€” and this was the best. Real life > perfect posting streak. Sometimes unplugging IS the good, better, best choice, and I wouldn't trade a minute of it. πŸ’›

A couple weeks ago, my daughters and I hiked up to Albion Basin. 🌼 Wildflowers as far as you can see, hummingbirds and bees buzzing everywhere, the trail curving through open meadow. And not once did we worry about losing our way β€” because that trail has been walked so many times, by so many people, that their footsteps wore a clear path right into the mountainside. We didn't need a map. We just had to stay on the path already made for us. πŸ₯Ύ

I loved that hike. But it was a few days later, reading Elder Edward B. Rowe's talk Choose Jesus Christ as Your Guide from April 2026 General Conference, that I realized Albion Basin had already taught me something I needed to hear. πŸ“– ://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/general-conference/2026/04/44rowe?lang=eng

Elder Rowe told a very different walking story. πŸ’£ As a young lawyer, he worked in a former war zone helping resolve a border dispute β€” an area littered with landmines that hadn't all been found. No wildflowers. No worn path. Just danger, some visible, most hidden. To stay alive, he was given a guide named Winta, and clear instructions:

"Carefully follow your guide. Walk in his footsteps a few paces behind him. Where he goes, you go. Where he steps, you step."

Friends, I think most of us have walked both of those trails. 🌸 Seasons that feel like Albion Basin β€” clear, peaceful, easy. 🌩️ And seasons that feel like that minefield β€” uncertain, where one careless step catches us off guard. We don't always get to choose which trail we're on. But we do get to choose who we're following through it. πŸ’›

That's really what this whole lesson came down to: not walking near Jesus Christ β€” walking exactly where He walks.

Small steps, big wins. 🍠✨

Some nights you don't have the energy to cook a whole meal β€” and that's exactly why 20 minutes of prep on a Sunday can save you.

Today's move: cubed sweet potatoes + onions, a light spray of olive oil, a sprinkle of garlic salt, into the air fryer at 380Β° for 20 minutes (a little longer if you like extra caramelization). That's it. That's the whole recipe.

Bag up the leftovers, toss them in the freezer, and future-you has a beautiful, ready-to-go addition to any protein bowl on the nights when rushed is the only speed you've got.

I think about this every time I do it: greatness rarely comes from one big leap. It comes from small, consistent choices β€” the extra 20 minutes today that becomes ease tomorrow. Prepping this bowl isn't just about food. It's a tiny act of care for the person you'll be next week.

This session with the Clayton family was pure joy β€” I used to teach two of these sweet kids in Miss Julie's Preschool, and getting to watch them grow into the incredible young people they are today? That's the best part of this job. Full circle moments like these are why I do what I do. πŸ“·βœ¨

I had the honor of attending the most elegant wedding celebration for Hannah and Owen! 🀍 They were sealed in the Layton Temple, and the reception at the that followed was nothing short of magical. Every detail was thoughtfully curated β€” the blush and ivory florals, the gold chargers, the softest pink organza chair sashes 🌸 β€” it all came together so beautifully.

The food was delicious, the ice cream sundae bar was such a fun surprise 🍦, and that cake?! Simple, elegant perfection πŸŽ‚ Watching the first dance, the light-up wand send-off, and all the joy on the dance floor reminded me just how sacred and sweet marriage truly is πŸ’«

Friends forever. 🌼🌸✨

There is nothing like the friends who walk beside you through every season of life β€” the adventures, the laughter, the ordinary days that turn into treasured memories. 🌿 One of my favorite kinds of days: recharging at my favorite place, Red Butte Garden 🌻, surrounded by black-eyed Susans and coneflowers in full bloom 🌸, bees busy at work 🐝, a duck family gliding across still water πŸ’§, and just the right mix of sunshine and shade β˜€οΈ.

We wandered the paths, swung on garden benches 🌷, and did what good friends do best β€” talked about everything and nothing, and somehow solved all the world's problems along the way.

And here's what I know for sure: we've all walked hard roads to get here. But we didn't walk them alone. 🌹 As President Camille N. Johnson so beautifully taught: "I know that life is hard. You can do hard with Jesus, or you can do hard alone. That is your choice. But when you do hard with Jesus Christ, the hard becomes holy. You become holy women."

That's what makes days like this feel so sacred β€” not just the beauty around us, but the friendship and faith that carried us to this moment. 🌼

What would we do without good friends? They are life's treasures, plain and simple. 🌸

Grateful for these women. Grateful for a Savior who makes the hard holy. πŸ’›πŸŒ·
