What Inspires Me
At the beginning of April, I had only recorded a few mediocre lightshows to post to a private gloving community called Glover’s Lounge, and I certainly did not consider myself an artist. What changed my mind was a couple quick tragedies -- finding out my 8 month old kitten and the love of my life Loki was diagnosed with FIP and a colon tumor, then a few days later my only remaining grandparent Nana died suddenly and unexpectedly, but surrounded by love and at peace. My Nana was an artist her whole life, and she passed that artistic eye and appreciation for the small things on to her children, grand children, and great grand children.
After her death and through the grieving process, I started to see that the poi and gloving I’ve been doing for years is actually art that deserves to be shared with the world, and I believe I’m good enough (at least at poi haha) to bring a little bit of peace, light, and love to people’s everyday lives during this tough quarantine time and beyond. I plan on letting Nana live on in the form of the art that I share with you all, and I hope you appreciate what I’m trying to put out into the world and you’ll leave any feedback you have so I can continue to improve and deliver what my audience wants!
Stay inside, stay safe, stay healthy. Hold the loved ones you’re quarantined with and that you get to visit close. Love one another, and over all BE KIND.
