My grandfather was a builder. In 1950, he led a crew of men to build a home for his family. One gentleman, as my 88 year old mother tells me, was thrilled to work on such a beautiful home, with such fine people. He and his wife were traveling to ‘the old country’ - Italy - and while there, he had these portraits made as a gift. So many years later, the family construction business has now been sold and the office cleared out. These were found in a closet under lots of random things. They were immediately brought to me - thank goodness! I’d never seen them before! Each one weighs about 35 lbs, with no way to hang them. So they are propped against the fireplace for now. Can’t wait to take them to my momma! What a treat, huh?!❤️

~Tuscan Love~
I have for the longest time wanted to create detailed landscape artworks. Finally I was able to do so. Creating shadows and adding depth to the artwork have me utter joy. I felt a bit sad when the artwork had to go to her new permanent home. 🥹
I was able to take my time and work at my own pace. And was able to pour all my heart and love into it and do such detailed work. The client had a photograph which reminded them of their trip to Italy and the beautiful Tuscan countryside. 🥰

Hi ladies, I decided to turn the cracks in my drive into art 😅 I used thin set & grout, however some of them come out 😟 so does anyone know of a better adhesive I could use, so they'll stay in? Cheers

UPDATE
Thank you all for your suggestions and generosity in taking time to think about my problem.
Think I have sorted it! I was describing the ‘fixings’ to my son, who said the standing pole was too loose in the hollow pole I’d set in the concrete. I stuffed very thin pieces of wood between the two poles and it’s made the whole thing much more stable, barely a lean and absolutely no chance it will fall over - I pulled and pushed it and the base doesn’t move! Hurrah! Thank you again, what a great, helpful group this is, I learn things all the time.
I’ve finally finished this, after 2 years (between other things). I’m quite happy with how it’s turned out but… each piece is sitting on a pole, it’s a metal hollow pole. When I put the whale tail on, it made the whole thing lean forward.
Do you think a solid, metal pole would be more secure. I dread coming into the room and finding all my work shattered on the floor.
Any advice gladly received. TIA
