We tackled a giant bottle cork dart board project while we waiting for keys to the our new mega-studio. Took about 2700 corks, hot glued one by one.

If you’re in Utah and interested in being a member of our studio when it opens, head to the link in my bio!

Part 60: A few of the 75 raku pots in the winter sunlight! You really need to see these in the shop, up close and lit up! Head to the link in my bio. There are several still up for grabs right now.

❤️ Raku pottery is a unique and ancient Japanese firing technique that involves removing pottery from a kiln while it is still hot and placing it into containers filled with combustible materials, such as sawdust or paper. The heat causes the materials to ignite, creating a dramatic effect of smoke and carbon on the pottery’s surface. This process, which typically takes place in a relatively low-temperature firing (around 1,800°F), produces distinctive, crackled glazes and a variety of unpredictable color patterns. The rapid cooling in air and smoke gives raku pieces their signature look, characterized by their irregularity and spontaneity.

How to spend Courtney’s last couple of months? Big Bowls. Obviously. Since big bowls have always been our pottery passion together, we decided to do a series taking you through the creation of a handful of them as we create one final, beautiful collection and we’ll release them all together at the end of the series.
