The community facility is family friendly and offers something for all ages. Slides, spray elements, lap lanes, and a zero depth entry make the pool a wonderful summertime retreat for kids and adults. The facility also offers a concession area with a variety of refreshment options, a "party"/classroom, and locker/restroom areas that have lockers and showers, in addition to changing areas. Programs

that will be offered at the West Park Pool in 2021 include Aqua Aerobics, American Red Cross Swimming Lessons and Lifeguard Training, Semi/Private Party options, Lap Swimming, and plenty of Open Recreation hours for family enjoyment!

The City of DeRidder is moving forward with plans to construct the Bryant Park Bicycle Playground, an exciting new recreational amenity designed to provide local youth with a safe and dedicated place to ride their bicycles.

The DeRidder City Council recently approved the project and the bid for planning, design, and construction was awarded to American Ramp Company. The approved design retains and preserves Bryant Park’s natural pine canopy, maintaining the character and beauty of the park while adding a unique recreational feature.

Mayor Michael D. Harris said the primary purpose of the bicycle playground is to create a safe environment where children and youth can develop their cycling skills, stay active, and enjoy the outdoors.

To accommodate the project, the City Council also approved an ordinance allowing bicycles within Bryant Park.

According to American Ramp Company, park features are currently being manufactured. Additional phases of the project will include site preparation and grading, installation of park features, and asphalt placement. Construction is expected to be completed by year’s end, weather permitting.

Founded in 1998, American Ramp Company specializes in the design and construction of action sports facilities. Led by riders Nathan Bemo and John Hunter, the company brings together bikers, skaters, engineers, landscape architects, and experienced builders to create innovative recreational spaces across the country.

The City of DeRidder looks forward to bringing this new amenity to Bryant Park and providing another opportunity for residents to enjoy healthy, outdoor recreation!

Looking for a quieter time to enjoy the pool? Join us every Friday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM for Toddler & Senior Time at West Park Pool!

👶 Toddlers (Ages 3 & Under)
👵 Seniors (Ages 65 & Up)
💲 Admission: $2 per person

This special hour is reserved exclusively for toddlers and seniors to enjoy the pool in a relaxed environment before we open to the public.

⏰ Please note: Toddler & Senior Time ends promptly at 10:00 AM, and all participants must exit the pool area at that time as the facility opens to the general public at 10:00 AM.
