We wake up everyday striving to be better than the day before, once you find your purpose the momentum of your calling can impact the world in multiple ways and what your legacy stands to become is not only by words but by the passion of your actions.

Timothy Toolman McCoy is one of the most decorated Hip Hop Artist in Iowa Hip Hop History, arguably top 10 all time, and 1/4 of the legendary super group Local Legendz. His lyrical abilities bar none rival the most notable rappers in Hip Hop Culture standing amongst the likes of Nas, Hov, and Scarface.

Aside from his music career which spans over 2 decades, he looked deep inside of himself and found the power of purpose. Our youth are dying from gun violence in record numbers, his life in the streets took a back seat to standing for change and helping to reduce gun violence in Iowa.

Tim is a community activist and a hero to young black men who have been raised without the tools survive. Many times the conversation is had to create change, but not often enough are the corrective steps taking to help heal. This Father, business man, innovator and legend is a foundational piece of Iowa’s growth. A toast to the Tool Man.
