I couldn’t think of a better time than now to tell you all I’ve been working on rebranding my social media!

I’ve spent the last 12 months reconnecting to my tribe, my culture and our traditions. A fire has been lit inside me to use my platform to bring awareness to Indigenous issues, lift Indigenous voices, and share my experience as a reconnecting native.

Yes! I feel that!

My voice shakes sometimes when I speak. I forget to breathe and run out of air mid-sentence. I speak real fast to get it over with. My mind misplaces my thoughts and I lose track of where I’m going. 😬

Public speaking is how we share our stories and I’m in the story-sharing business so it is important to me to turn that weakness into a strength.

I had the opportunity to work with Erik Dominguez .up.stories to help me improve my confidence when it comes to speaking.

Erik challenged me to focus on my message and be mindful of the words I use. He helped me eliminate the limiting belief that I wasn’t prepared or qualified to speak. He made it way less scary and just a little bit of fun to put together a message.

I left my first coaching session more confident in my ability to share my stories and I am looking forward to joining the community to continue to improve.

Im not great yet but I’m getting better.

I’m still dreaming of my partnership with !!!

Normally I’d tell you about the cool features and benefits of driving this car.

It’s a no-brainer tho.
This car is classy.
Period.

You’ll break necks in the coffee shop drive thru every morning (and sometimes afternoon too). It is worth all the dollars.

One thing I’ve been doing as I determine which brands I want to work with tho is to look for their commitments to diversity.👀

What does their supply chain look like? Is their advertising inclusive? Who are their leaders? Are they genuine? Is this something I really want to support?

With Lexus, the answer is YES!!
I can go to the Instagram feed and see an in*******al family, women, men, different ethnicities and even a dog.

When reached out to me to talk about my trip to Toronto last year for the RISE conference, my stomach flipped.

Those of you who have followed me for long know that Rachel Hollis and her content played a huge role in my progress toward success. She was a role model and mentor to me.

Those of you who follow Rachel Hollis probably know how problematic she has become recently. If you don’t, read the NYT article in my bio to catch up.

While I no longer follow Rachel, I can’t help but root for her to get this right. Of all the things she could improve, this is one that matters.

Rachel has captivated MILLIONS of women around the world. Many of these women, including Rachel, must learn how to check their privilege. Their white privilege. Their socio-economic privilege. Their able-bodied privilege. All of the privileges.

Our world has to do better at seeing things from someone else’s perspective. This is important.

Rachel climbed up a mountain a billion times a day for like a week straight once. That’s the same effort she needs to give to overcome the blockages preventing her from seeing things through other people’s perspective. She has the opportunity to do the work, figure it out, find a way and then shine the light for others to follow.

That’s what we all must do. Do the work. Figure it out. Lead the way for others. Keep going.
