🌽🔧 IOWA NEEDS SKILLED TRADES — TODAY AND TOMORROW. 🇺🇸⚙️

Not every future begins in a four-year university classroom.

Some futures begin in machine shops, welding booths, construction sites, electrical apprenticeships, diesel garages, and technical training programs that help keep Iowa moving every single day. 🚜🔩

From family farms and grain elevators to manufacturing plants, highways, schools, hospitals, and small-town businesses, Iowa depends on skilled workers who know how to build, repair, maintain, and innovate. 💪

Who keeps the tractors running during harvest?
Who installs the wiring in new homes?
Who repairs critical equipment when it breaks down?
Who builds the roads, bridges, and infrastructure our communities rely on?

Skilled tradespeople do.

Trade schools and apprenticeship programs provide opportunities for young people to earn valuable skills, secure good-paying careers, and strengthen Iowa's workforce without following a one-size-fits-all path.

College is important. Technical education is important too.

A strong Iowa needs farmers, welders, electricians, mechanics, HVAC technicians, machinists, construction workers, healthcare technicians, and countless other skilled professionals working alongside every other career field.

These aren't backup careers.

They're essential careers.

Invest in trade education. Support apprenticeships. Respect skilled workers. Build Iowa's future. 🌽🇺🇸

Miss you, Iowa.

Maybe it's the endless cornfields glowing at sunset.

Whatever it is, there's something about Iowa that stays with you.

A place where life moves a little slower, sunsets seem a little brighter, and community still means something.

You don't have to be from Iowa to love Iowa.

Iowa's weather operates under a simple philosophy: if you're comfortable, something has gone wrong.

Actual Spring lasts just long enough for everyone to remember why they live here. The grass turns green, the trees finally wake up, and every Iowan emerges from winter looking slightly confused by sunlight. Lawn mowers reappear. Front porches become occupied territory. The entire state collectively decides that today is a good day to stand outside and stare at absolutely nothing.

Of course, Iowa residents know better than to trust the calendar. We've all seen what happened before. Winter showed up. Then it showed up again. Then it got bored and came back a third time just to make sure nobody was getting too optimistic. Somewhere between Fool's Spring and Spring of Deception, Iowa learned that hope is a dangerous hobby.

The real sign that spring has arrived isn't the temperature. It's the sound of people arguing about whether it's warm enough to wear shorts. In Iowa, that debate starts at about 48 degrees and ends sometime in October.

Actual Spring also means the return of severe thunderstorm season, which is Iowa's way of balancing out all the pleasant weather. One minute you're enjoying a perfect evening. The next minute half the state is standing on a porch watching a wall cloud while saying, "Looks like it might rain."

But for now, the arrow says Actual Spring, and that's good enough. The fields are greening up. The birds are back. The grills are firing up. Farmers are rolling equipment out of the sheds. And for a brief moment before summer humidity arrives to remind everyone who's really in charge, Iowa is exactly where it wants to be.

Iowa's agricultural identity is not a marketing campaign. It is a fact of life that stretches across nearly every horizon in the state in the form of cornfields, soybean fields, family farms, grain bins, and rural communities that have spent generations feeding both America and the world. Agriculture is not something Iowa does. It is something Iowa is.

The state's farming heritage reaches far beyond the crops themselves. The county fairs, the co-ops, the small-town grain elevators, the tractors rolling down two-lane highways, and the traditions passed from one generation to the next all exist because Iowa's farmers continue to invest their lives in the land. Long before most Americans wake up, Iowa farmers are already at work, doing a job that never pauses for weekends, holidays, or perfect weather.

When Iowa-grown products are overlooked in favor of imports produced thousands of miles away, the cost is measured in more than dollars. The farms are here. The expertise is here. The food is here. The question is whether Iowa is willing to stand behind the people who have spent generations standing behind Iowa.

814,237 Days Without a Shark Attack in Iowa
State officials are pleased to report that Iowa has once again gone another day without a single shark-related incident.
Experts say the streak remains intact due to a combination of factors, including:
✅ Very few oceans
✅ Extremely limited shark population
✅ Cornfields proving difficult for sharks to navigate
"We're proud of this achievement," one local resident said. "We've worked hard to keep sharks out of Iowa."
Authorities are reminding residents that while shark attacks remain unlikely, deer, raccoons, potholes, and tractors continue to be significantly more common hazards.
This is why Iowa's lakes are better than any ocean. 🌽😂

🌽☀️ It’s June in Iowa.

At 6 a.m., you're outside with a cup of coffee enjoying cool air, singing birds, and endless green cornfields stretching to the horizon. Life feels peaceful, simple, and almost perfect.

By noon, the humidity has turned the entire state into a giant outdoor sauna. 🥵🌽

The forecast says 59° in the morning and 92° in the afternoon, but somehow it feels like 105° because the air itself has decided to become soup. 😭

You leave the house wearing a light jacket and spend the rest of the day wondering why your shirt is glued to your back.

The corn is thriving.
The soybeans are thriving.
You? Not so much. 💀

Meanwhile, farmers are still out working in the fields like it's just another Tuesday.

The sky is bright blue one minute, then suddenly dark clouds roll in from nowhere and everyone starts checking the radar.

A thunderstorm might show up.
It might not.
Nobody really knows. 🌩️😂

Iowa in June isn't just a state.

It's endless cornfields, beautiful sunsets, surprise thunderstorms, humidity strong enough to fog your glasses, and enough green scenery to make every backroad look like a postcard. 🌽❤️
