If you saw a large police and fire presence along Busse Road earlier this month, this is what it was about: a Haz Mat scare that, once everyone arrived, turned out to be nothing at a postal processing facility.

Firefighters responded to a possible hazardous materials situation at a Busse Road freight forwarding facility that includes a U.S. Postal Service package handling center earlier this month.

Do you ride e-bikes, electric, or motorized scooters or skateboards? New rules take effect on all of those in Elk Grove Village starting on July 1.

Elk Grove Village trustees adopted an ordinance Tuesday (June 17) setting restrictions on e-bicycles and motorized or electric scooters, or skateboards.

Although the Elk Grove Village Pride Event takes place at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 28 at Prince of Peace United Methodist Church, the church at Devon Avenue and Arlington Heights Road has been celebrating Pride Month all this month.

Mothers' Milk Bank of the Western Great Lakes, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing life-saving donor human milk to infants in need, celebrated with a ribbon cutting on a new 15,000 sq. ft. facility at 560 Bonnie Ln. in the Elk Grove Business Park last month.

The Citgo on Higgins was reportedly robbed yesterday. They are said to have taken 12 rolls of lottery tickets.

The Citgo gas station at 874 E. Higgins Rd. was burglarized at 5:12 a.m. Thursday, June 5, according to Elk Grove Village police.

Some big changes at the Kenneth Young Center in Elk Grove Village.

Elk Grove Village’s Kenneth Young Center held a record-breaking event at Saturday’s (May 16) 24th annual Hustle for Health 5K Run & ​Walk in Busse Woods, with 363 people in attendance raising $87,246 to fund community health programming.
