Severe thunderstorms are expected to increase in coverage later this afternoon and evening. The tornado threat is higher today than the last few days. Large hail and damaging winds will also be possible. Main threat is between 4 pm and 10 pm.

Latest information on Beryl for the metroplex. Beryl should become a hurricane again later today and impacts will start to be felt this afternoon from the coast up into the hill country.

The latest on Beryl as the track is still nudging more north. We will continue to watch to see where Beryl does decide to go.

Here is the latest on Hurricane Beryl. It is expected to make landfall on the Yucatan Peninsula this morning and move into the Gulf tonight/early Saturday. For more info go to http://nhc.noaa.gov.

Still days out but it is starting to seem a little more likely that south Texas could feel some of the effects from Beryl. Right now it looks like. The landfall will be south of the border. The track of Beryl could still change over the next few days so it will be worth watching.

Hurricane Beryl will continue to move west-northwestward while gradually weakening over the next several days toward Jamaica and the Yucatan Peninsula. The forecast uncertainty then increases as Beryl enters and moves across the Southwestern Gulf of Mexico this weekend. Nonetheless, expect for increasing coastal impacts at area Texas beaches and check back for the latest forecast updates.

Crazy to think warnings used to be based on a matter of minutes now with new science even though experimental, granted Greenfield Iowa 75 minute warning prior to the tornado ripping through town.

Big swath of Texas is now under a Tornado Watch until 8pm.

Latest from NWS FWD. Could be a bumpy evening for severe storms. Main threats today large hail and damaging winds but a tornado or two cannot be ruled out. Other hazards could be flooding so be careful out there! We will post updates throughout the day.

Tornado watch has been issued for the rest of the metroplex and points south and west, this will expire at 9pm.

A Tornado Watch has been issued for parts of the Fox 4 Weather viewing area.

New Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Eastern Jack, Northern Wise and Southern Montague. Damaging hail up to tennis balls is possible. This warning will expire at 1:45 pm.
