What are you thankful for? 🤷‍♂️
Think about it, just for a few minutes.
Really think about it, and watch how it changes your day, week, and perspective. Being grateful isn’t just for Thanksgiving.
Gratitude rewires your brain for resilience, and quite literally changes the way we think, learn, grow, and see the world, and the people, around us.
Yes, it’s that powerful.
And it’s free to all of us.
New research published in Frontiers in Psychology confirmed what many ancient traditions, along with modern health and lifestyle practices have been teaching: practicing gratitude has an immensely, and immediate, impact on our emotional, mental, and physical health.
Moreover, gratitude can permeate happiness and wellbeing the very moment we decide to practice it and carry its torch in our lives.
This study followed over 1,200 adults and found that higher levels of gratitude were directly linked to a decrease in anxiety and depression, enhanced emotional regulation, greater psychological resilience, and overall
clarity and mental health.
Gratitude actually activates regions of your brain tied to empathy and emotional regulation -including the medial prefrontal cortex and anterior cingulate cortex: the areas that we rely on for managing stress, overcoming hardships and uncertainty, and moving past personal setbacks.
Simply practicing gratitude… starting right this very minute, today, absolutely has the power to make things better.
What are you waiting for?
Happy Thanksgiving. You deserve it!
