I’ve been spending a lot of time thinking about the "Fine Line."
On one side, you have the Hive. Ants and bees are the ultimate masters of collectivism. They work with a "Collective Heart"—no one is left behind, the group is resilient, and the goal is always the common good.
On the other side, we have the Pioneer. The Western, individualistic culture that drives innovation, personal agency, and the freedom to dream big.
But why do we feel like we have to choose?
I believe the secret to a better society (and a better business) is finding The Midway.
It’s about taking the "good stuff" from both:
The safety and support of the collective.
The ambition and creativity of the individual.
We need a system that functions like a hive but dreams like a pioneer. A world where there is a "Floor but no Ceiling"—where everyone has basic dignity, but everyone has the space to rise as high as their dreams will take them.
Check out the video for my full take on why we need to start looking at nature to find our balance.
What do you think? Are we leaning too far into one side, or is "The Midway" possible?
