Plot twist: 2025 turned into the year books fully ran my life. 📚✨

I am coming at you full force in collaboration with to celebrate the top reads that stole my sleep, hijacked my group chats, and made me feel everything from gasps, cackles, goosebumps, and happy tears. 😭

My Star Wars Top Ranked Reads in 2025 Included These Great Statistics:

• This year I was finally able to begin the Star Wars: The High Republic Series. This series gave me many of my Top Reads this year, and I’m only partway through the series. I have to say my favorite book overall so far would have to be Light of the Jedi. I also really enjoyed Cataclysm & others shown here like The Battle of Jedha & Path of Vengeance. I also really enjoyed the two short story compilations.
• I really seemed to enjoy stand-alone new release novels this year. A few recent releases include the two Acolyte Prequel Novels shown here & The Bad Batch Tie-In Novel. Some slightly older release stand-alone novels I enjoyed included Reign of the Empire: Mask of Fear+The Rise & Fall of the Empire.
• Earlier on in the year I also enjoyed reading the complete 12-Book Middle Grade Chapter Book Star Wars Legends Horror Series, Galaxy of Fear. Some of my favorites from that series included Book #12: The Hunger & Book #7: The Brain Spiders.

So the Women’s Club in a town about 40 minutes away from our own rural little town, was hosting a Gingerbread House Contest & Brunch at the local public library there…
So myself, seeing the event on Facebook Events, what did I do? I tasked myself, my sister and my Momma with making a Star Wars-Themed Gingerbread House to submit to the Contest!!

Partially based off a design on Haniela’s Website Blog for a Star Wars Gingerbread house, we decided to change up the house a bit from its original design photos on the Blog, including designing our own style of roof, adding and moving a few tidbits that either weren’t on the original design or were in a different spot in the original photos, and changing the door up a bit.

My Mom contributed the Frosting Roof and Additional Details, my Sister did most of the baking of the Construction Gingerbread Recipe, making the Royal Icing itself, and icing the four walls in their intricate designs.
The Walls and Details as Follows:
- Side Walls: Royal Icing Stormtrooper (with Red Frosting Accents) & Darth Vader
- Front and Back Walls: Royal Icing C-3PO & R2-D2
- Roof Side 1: Black Frosting Using a Star Tip, with the Individual Gingerbread Letters “Star Wars” spelled out on top, and two Gingerbread Lightsabers (red and blue) crossed on the roof.
- Roof Side 2: White Frosting with Death Star Dish & Chimney
- R2 had a Chewbacca-Style Fur Frosting Door, with a White Star Tip Frosting K**b, with a Gingerbread Wookiee Cookie Chewbacca (complete with bandolier & fork fur) that I made myself.
- 2 Side Corners of the House had Gingerbread BB-8’s complete with Orange, White & Gray Royal Icing.
- The House was Completed with Shimmer Dust/Edible Spray Glitter, Blue, Red & White Sprinkles on R2’s Side Base, a small rough Yoda Face on a piece by C-3PO’s Side, & Gum/Candy Blue & Red Roof ‘Rafters and Gutters’ (which my Mom insisted on adding)

My read for the 2 1/2 Hour Drive to my Grandma’s House in the City (close to where we moved from) was ’s Star Wars: The High Republic: Light of the Jedi, the first book for my start of Phase I of The High Republic: Light of the Jedi since I just finished Phase II: Quest of the Jedi the day previous with the Star Wars: The High Republic: Edge of Balance: Precedent Manga Graphic Novel. I am enjoying Light of the Jedi so far and it has not let me down with the high standards that THR Phase II gave me yet, and I doubt it ever will!

I watched the Star Wars: Holiday Special (1978) for the first time ever in my 21 years 2 nights ago on a special TV-recorded VHS copy I ordered a few years ago now, with my Dad, who saw it back when it was released on TV as a kid.

My VHS Copy was from Etsy I believe and I don’t think they sell it any longer, but it came with the most beautiful cardboard case with amazing artwork on it, and a plastic protector. It was my first time ever opening and playing the tape however this year (I believe I bought the tape back in 2023). To my surprise the tape itself had a beautiful festive label on the side and front of the tape.

I know I’m probably going to get a lot of hate for this, but I actually didn’t think the Holiday Special was that bad at all. A bit odd, sure, psychedelic even, but I really enjoyed watching it as a sort of “ritual” to my “initiation” as a true, diehard Star Wars Fan. I actually really enjoyed the entire process of watching it. It dragged out a bit, especially since the original TV recording of it included the vintage Commercials from 1978 when it was shown on TV (including a Star Wars Kenner Toys commercial!) but I thought that was also part of how cool the experience was because I was not around to watch the original TV release back in ‘78 (being an ‘04 baby), it was a cool complete experience to take me back in time to see those vintage commercials. I also loved seeing the cartoon Debut of Boba Fett for the first time ever! I’ve seen plenty of the action figures of him in that style and I even actually believe I own one myself, but this was my first time ever seeing the debut cartoon itself. I never watched it on Disney+. I enjoyed seeing Chewbacca’s family, especially his wife Mala, even if I thought Chewbacca’s Dad’s costume was a bit weird or creepy looking, and the Empire wasn’t the strictest it’s ever been at but was still pretty decent Bad Guys as a villain, but overall I enjoyed the show greatly. I liked meeting Lumpy, Chewbacca’s Son, Life Day,and seeing Luke, Leia and Han, just as I’m sure kids did back in the day when it premiered!

I actually thought the plot line was thorough and decent as a stand-alone style movie.

This year, I finally was able to make my very own Star Wars-Themed Thanksgiving Dinner, due to family circumstances that are causing my family to have more than one dinner this year!!

Today is my, my Mom’s and my Dad’s smaller Thanksgiving Dinner, tomorrow on Friday we’re heading down to my Grandma’s for Thanksgiving Dinner with her, and then on Saturday my younger sister will cook dinner for us and her boyfriend who will be there (she couldn’t be there today because she had dinner with her boyfriend’s family today, and my cousins had dinner with Grandma today. So it all works out great!)

I however have always really wanted to do a Star Wars Holiday Themed Dinner lately because this past year I’ve really gotten into cooking many different Star Wars Themed Recipes whether from on the web in blogs (including the official Star Wars Blog Website) or in official Hardcover Physical Star Wars Cookbooks! I’ve made over 33+ Different Star Wars Recipes from drinks & desserts to dinners, lunches & more! I really enjoy Star Wars Themed cooking as a new hobby. I plan to make plenty more posts in the future of all the different dishes I have made previously, but since today is Thanksgiving I wanted to show my Mini Star Wars-Style Thanksgiving Dinner!

Using the Physical Life Day Cookbook by Jenn Fujikawa & Marc Sumerak, and the official Website Blog, today I made my very own Roasted Tip-Yip as our main course (chicken), a Side Dish of Plicated Orga Root (Sweet Potatoes & Potatoes), & New Official Blog Porgkin Pie (Pumpkin Pie) as dessert, I managed to make a Traditional-Style Mini Star Wars-Themed Thanksgiving Meal for my Family!

I really had a TON of fun making this meal and hope to make dishes for Christmas & New Year’s as well as all year round for future years!

Just Wanted to Give You Guys a Sneak Peek of the Type of Items I’m Creating for the Collaborative Star Wars Handmade Advent Calendar I’m Contributing to with &

This is my SetUp & Work Station for all of the super hard work & long hours I’ve been putting in that I’ve been doing for creating my items to contribute for the calendar!! It’s my first time participating in such a big collaboration and contributing my actual homemade items to something like this! I’ve actually purchased all new supplies for this project specifically, including new cases for my rubber bands, new rubber bands in multiple colors, a new loom, etc., so I could really use your help by if you could purchase a calendar to help me make the money back on my supplies alone!! If you can’t purchase a calendar now please consider saving up for one, buying one at your next paycheck with any extra leftover money you have, or just sharing this post and the original reel to your story & specific friends!

I’m actually making 3 Distinct Different TYPES of Items, with multiple different designs for each type of item, if you get my meaning. Let me know in the comments if you think I should reveal one of the items that will actually be in the calendar! But for now I’m just revealing that all of my different items will be made of Rubber Band Art created on a Loom with a Hook. In a way it’s actually a little similar to crocheting, and I really enjoy doing it as a hobby! For more hints, some of the items will even be wearable for everyday use, others specifically just displayable for your collection!
