METRO DETROIT — Under a broken movie screen amid bright lights and piles of concrete off to the side, the Orbitsuns finish their 10th take of Bob Seger’s “Sunspot Baby.

When the world changed earlier this year, many of us retreated to our record players to be reminded of the healing power of the music we grew up with. This album is a public testimony to that power, and to the goodwill of the Detroit music community to come together to help the Detroit homeless community.

This has been a labor of love for us. And a love of our community drives this project. Every penny from the sale of this record benefits the amazing work of the Pope Francis Center in downtown Detroit. They serve over 200 guests per day and provide showers and laundry services, daily medical clinics, legal and housing assistance.

The musicians on this record are some of the most iconic in Detroit rock. Their albums cover decades of our music history. No industry was hit harder by the pandemic than the music industry, and their participation on this record is inspiring to everyone at the Pope Francis Center. The music they produced on this record is a true testament to the healing power of rock n roll.

The limited edition colored vinyl was pressed in Detroit by Third Man Pressing and is also available in a very limited deluxe edition that includes a print, signed and numbered by iconic Detroit artist Glenn Barr.

Order your copy today and hear some classic Detroit rock n roll and help a great cause. https://www.mimirecords.com/
