The Record Store Day 2026 list has been announced! Look out for two exclusive releases from Westbound Records (via Org Music). 
The Westbound Sound: Single Minded is the latest installment of the ‘Westbound Records Curated by RSD’ compilation series, featuring essential tracks and rarities originally issued as 45rpm singles. 
A limited edition Funkadelic (self-titled) picture disc will be available exclusively for RSD UK and Europe.
 Find them on Saturday, April 18, only at independent record stores.

Just announced! The Westbound Sound: Foundations. The second compilation in our “Westbound Records Curated by RSD” series with Org Music.

The roots of hip hop grow directly from the foundations of funk and soul. As home to some of the most sampled artists in history, Detroit’s Westbound Records was critical to the art form’s continuing evolution. We here at Westbound are proud to present a small sample of songs that will be forever intertwined with the history of hip hop.

This limited pressing comes on transparent “smoke” vinyl, exclusively for RSD Black Friday. Pick up a copy at your local indie record store beginning November 29.

Dennis Coffey’s first album for Westbound Records, retitled Finger Pickin Good, is out everywhere on this very funky Friday! Pick up this reissue from the guitar virtuoso at your local independent record store or purchase a copy from the Westbound Records site (link in bio). The record sounds better than ever, and features previously unreleased bonus track “What It Is It Aint”.

The release comes on red-hot color vinyl, black vinyl, CD, and digital formats, available on streaming platforms for the first time ever!

Out today! The return of unheralded funk masterpiece "What’s Up Front That-Counts”, sounding better than ever before.

In 1971, after dropping “Fabulous” from their moniker, The Counts delivered their first full-length platter for Westbound, indisputably one of the funkiest albums of all time. The conga-led grooves, impassioned vocals and strutting in-the-pocket arrangements are as infectious as they are groovy.

This long awaited reissue includes 3 previously unissued bonus tracks, mixed at the iconic in Detroit. The album was remastered by Dave Gardner () with restoration and tape transfers by archival specialist Catherine Vericolli ().
