I kicked off 2025 interviewing Ledisi at the Super Bowl with ESSENCE… then hit Latonya Story’s incredible Black Women in Sports luncheon… then got filled up with gospel at Soulful Celebration — run by the PR maven who taught me the game. Those moments shaped my whole year.

Todays journey into journalism is anything but easy.
Even after bylines in Vogue Italia, Essence, People, VIBE, Business Insider, Detroit News, Detroit Free Press, LA Times, and GQ South Africa - I’m still fighting to be seen, to prove myself, and to share my ideas. Sometimes, the grind means playing nice just to get paid, being ghosted more times than I can count, or watching important stories never see the light of day.

But we kept going. we keep pitching. we keep reminding editors and publishers, “Remember us?”

We understood the assignment and that was NOT to beg for space.
That’s why we built and continue to grow The Stylists Suite community: a platform for media professionals to claim their freedom, collectively, cause we cannot do this alone.
