Stepping behind the scenes of Basilisk, an upcoming short film from Detroit filmmaker . This project lives in the tension between the familiar and the unsettling, using surreal storytelling to ask a simple but heavy question: how do we keep ourselves human in an increasingly invasive digital world? CineSnack joined as production support during the project’s crowdfunding shoot, with Sam on D.P. duties and Griffin shaping the light alongside Jack and an incredibly thoughtful crew. Even in these early stages, the process is driven by experimentation, intention, and a director deeply involved in every creative layer. is currently completing funding. Last winter, our team bundled up in Brighton to capture Griswold’s Outdoor Lighting bringing homes and businesses to life after dark. From installation days in the cold to heartfelt stories from the crew and clients, this docustyle campaign showcased the craft, care, and community behind Clark’s family-run company.

This project also marked a milestone for us as we expanded our docu-style marketing packages, designed to highlight real people doing meaningful work. Proud to help tell a story built on trust, service, and genuine local impact.

Every artist has a moment where things finally click. For it happened on the same day she quit her job and decided to fully bet on her craft. That energy ended up painted onto a vase she’s kept close ever since.

We created a short docu-style interview where Hedy talks through what inspired the piece and how that day shaped the rest of her career. The focus was on keeping everything honest, cinematic, and true to the feeling behind her work.

This is just one piece from the full project we produced together, and we’re excited to finally share this part of her journey.

Stepping into Hedy Yang’s studio felt like stepping into the heartbeat of her work—quiet focus, playful experimentation, and a deep love for craft. Our team partnered with Hedy to capture the story behind her ceramics through a docu-style production built around real conversations and hands-in-the-clay moments.

With a fast-moving, tight-knit crew, we filmed across her space as she shared her beginnings, her inspirations, and the future she’s shaping one piece at a time. The result is a collection of cinematic social reels and longer-form pieces that reflect the energy and detail she pours into every creation.

This collaboration was a joy from start to finish. See more from this project and more behind-the-scenes in the docu-style work on our website.

Behind every bite of this Chicken Coupe campaign was a crew of storytellers cooking up something bold.

Over two days and two Detroit locations, on-site at Chicken Coupe and down Belle Isle’s Giant Slide, we captured a grandma and grandson’s imagination running wild after tasting something a little too spicy to stay grounded. From prep to post, this one had all the right ingredients: a sharp cast, a tight crew, and plenty of sauce behind the scenes.
