TODAY:

The Michigan Association of Broadcasters and the Great Lakes Broadcasting Conference is holding a career fair at the Lansing Center in Ann Arbor starting at 2 p.m. today, March 8.

There are no registration fees or tickets to buy in order to attend the the career fair. Bring your best pressed interview suit, a stack of resumes and a copy of your work.

This is a great last-minute opportunity for graduating broadcast majors or students on a last-minute internship hunt for next fall.

The 2016-17 Private Scholarship Application is open:

http://wayne.edu/scholarships/privateapp/

You can only submit the form once, and consideration for all private scholarships requires submission of an application.

The deadline to have all materials submitted is March 31, 2016, and the Office of Student Financial Aid will not accept any late documents or applications.

And for Journalism students, departmental scholarship applications will be posted the first week of February. Applications are due at the end of the month.

Be sure to pick one up from Carol Horn in the Journalism Main Office!

All WSU Private Scholarships require submission of the 2016-17 Private Scholarship Application. Some of the awards are need-based, as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is available in January for the upcoming a

On Thursday April 16 at 6:30 PM in room 226 in Manoogian Hall, SPJ will be hosting a race panel event. The event will consist of 5 panelists discussing the importance of diversity in Detroit's news media, the current lack of diversity and the effect that has on newsrooms, and the prospects for students trying to break into a career in journalism. This will be a great event and we hope to see you there.
