Society of Professional Journalists / Detroit

As part of the Pulitzer centennial celebration, SPJ Detroit is gathering Wednesday, March 23, to honor local Pulitzer-winning journalists and to hear the stories behind their stories. We invited all of the area Pulitzer winners we know of, and most could make it. We are thrilled that Eric Freedman (1994, Detroit News), Charlie LeDuff (2001, New York Times), and Jim Schaefer and M.L. Elrick (2009, Detroit Free Press) will be able to join us. Festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (MOCAD), 4454 Woodward Ave., Detroit. Admission is a voluntary $5, which goes to fund the SPJ Laurain scholarships for student journalists. Come on out. It should be an entertaining evening.
