I remember when the school took us to see the movie… I sat there frozen. Locked in. Hooked.
From that day forward, Malcolm became my favorite Black man to ever walk this earth.

(I thought Denzel Was Malcolm😂😂)

His story…
His pain…
His transformation…
It mirrored parts of my own,rough upbringing, written off, underestimated.

And just like Malclom, I landed in prison young. But when I got upstate, that book meant everything. I read it again like my life depended on it.

Then I tried to read the entire dictionary (several times) But I didnt make it past the C’s but the fire was lit.

“By Any Means Necessary” wasn’t just a quote , it was a declaration.
It became my mindset. My mission. My mantra !

They took you from us too soon King!

But your words, your mind, your love for our people, it still echoes.

I got your face tattooed on my back ,not just to honor you, but to remind myself of who I’m fighting to become.
