Ogwang Lelo O'Koth was considered to be one of the greatest players of the golden era of nyatiti music. His wild storytelling was so popular that some of his lyrics entered popular speech, people are probably quoting Lelo without even knowing him.

Featured in my new book, "NYATITI: the making and unmaking of the right stringed lyre of Western Kenya" 500 pages of nyatiti history, commentary and interviews tracing the music from the turn of the 20th century to the present.

I am proud to announce my book on nyatiti music, which I have been working on for the past decade or so, is finally going to be available!

I had planned to write something fancy, but I'm just going to let the picture speak for itself. This is my first book and I'm really excited about it. This took an incredible amount of work.
