Today was the memorial to honor Billy and the wonderful man he was to all of us. As tough as it was for everyone it was great to come together and hear stories. Billy we love and miss you. If anyone took any photos or videos please upload them to the comments below! Thank you!

Billy was recently added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington DC. Unfortunately we were unable to attend in person as it was a virtual event due to COVID. We are hoping next year we can visit with Billy’s family.

“Bill was a Formula One guy but he will be making his way around the Daytona track this weekend on the #74 car driven by Bayley Currey. In November or December a young man ran a mile to honor Bill - now all of the fallen hero’s honored were placed on this NASCAR car. Running 4 Heroes is the organization. What a touching tribute!”

Run Announcement 1 - Mile 722:

Tonight (Wednesday, 11/25) at 6:30PM ET (Weather Permitting), Zechariah will run 1-mile carrying his flag in honor of fallen DeWitt Township Police Department (MI) Sergeant William Darnell.

IMPORTANT: The Safety of Zechariah remains our #1 concern. Please be advised that for the time being, Zechariah's run will be dependent on Law Enforcement being present. Due to the current times, if we are unable to secure Law Enforcement for the run, the run will be postponed to a later date and time.

We encourage citizens and agencies from across the nation join our son in a 1-mile walk or run tonight at 6:30PM ET (3:30PM PT) to help honor this fallen hero. Please be sure to adhere to local and federal government regulations regarding social distancing.

Sergeant Bill Darnell died as the result of complications after contracting COVID-19 while on duty.
