When I first started leading High Holy Day services, I knew the liturgy and Nussach pretty well, but I knew absolutely nothing about keeping the congregation engaged, how to choose melodies, and what Conservative congregations expect (coming from an Israeli Masorti shul was a bit of a culture shock...)
That became the inspiration for the High Holy Days Survival Kit, a practical field guide for rabbis, cantors, lay leaders, and anyone leading Conservative High Holy Day services. The kit is based on Machzor Lev Shalem, but its practical advice is easily adaptable to whatever Machzor you are using (Harlow, Koren, Machzor Chadash, etc.).
Rather than simply announcing the book, I'd like to share part of it. I've made the Musaf Sample Edition available as a free download. It includes the pre-service checklist along with the Musaf sections for both Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.

When I created The Triennial Chumash, I imagined it mostly as a tool for congregations and Jewish professionals using the triennial cycle. Over time, enough people asked for a personal edition that it felt worth making happen.
