⚠️❄INCLEMENT WEATHER ANNOUNCEMENT ❄⚠️

Due to inclement weather and poor road conditions, schools will start two hours late today, Thursday, December 18.

We are closely monitoring conditions and will communicate any changes as quickly as possible.

Please review the important schedule updates:
🔶Residential and rural bus routes will run two hours later than usual.
🔶The morning Early Childhood Preschool session is canceled.
🔶School start times:
* 10:00 a.m. – Elementary Schools
* 10:24 a.m. – Dickinson Middle School
* 10:10 a.m. – Dickinson High School

Due to icy conditions and ongoing safety concerns, all rural bus routes for the morning and afternoon are canceled on Thursday, December 11.

Residential bus routes will operate as scheduled.

Please allow extra travel time, drive with caution, and know that we will work with our families who cannot get their child(ren) to school.

Winter Weather Advisory has been issued through 6:00 pm on Thursday for the following counties: Adams, Billings, Bowman, Burleigh, Dunn, Emmons, Golden Valley, Grant, Hettinger, McLean, McKenzie, Mercer, Morton, Mountrail, Oliver, Sioux, Slope, Stark, and Williams.

Freezing rain and snow expected with accumulations up to 2 inches and ice accumulations around two tenths of an inch.

Confidence is increasing for a dynamic storm system Tuesday.

HIGH WIND WATCH in effect for portions of western and central North Dakota 9:00am Tuesday until 3:00am Wednesday. Northwest winds 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph possible. Periods of freezing rain and snow are possible. Travel could be difficult with reduced visibility and icy hazardous road conditions.

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY in effect for portions of western and southern North Dakota until 8:00pm tonight. Snow accumulations up to 4 inches possible with blowing and drifting snow that is causing slippery road conditions.

Widespread snow is expected today. Snow bands could bring areas of moderate to brief heavy snow, especially in portions of western and southern North Dakota. Areas with increased snowfall rates could see new snow accumulations up to 4 inches. Travel safe!

🚧 Traffic Update – Hwy 22 & 9th Street W 🚧

Beginning today (10/9), the NDDOT will be installing new light poles at the intersection of Highway 22 and 9th Street West.
