Happy Birthday and Congratulations Lizanne! She and her husband Larry, from Boot Hill Antiques were nominated by a couple of community members for the “Keep Dodge City Humble”!
Every year they put on a community Thanksgiving dinner for friends that don’t get to leave town and be with family for the Holiday. This year there were 19 that attended!

Today in SWKS history. December 24 1875: In trying to make an end to the lawlessness that characterized Dodge City for the first three years of its existence, a temporary town council met on Christmas Eve. Their first action was to appoint P.L. Beaty as acting Mayor until a proper election could be held. The council also passed several ordinances designed to reign in the chaos. The ordinances dealt with everything to the carrying and discharging of fi****ms, to indecent exposure, public drunkenness, lewd behavior, and keeping animals off the streets and horses were banned from being inside city buildings. Dodge City was finally starting to gain a measure of law and order.

Now they really will be a Kansas team!

The Kansas City Chiefs are coming to Kansas!

Kansas will be home to a new state-of-the-art domed stadium, opening for the 2031 season. And let me tell you - it’s going to be loud!

The Chiefs are also building a new training facility. A new team headquarters. A new entertainment district. All right here in Kansas.

This is a massive economic win for the state - over 20,000 jobs, over $4 billion in economic impact – and it doesn’t pull a single dollar from the state budget or create any new taxes.

We’re making Kansas the best place in America to live, work, and raise a family.
