Sometimes improving a broadcast system means simplifying what was left behind. 📡
During this site visit, our team identified multiple RF adapters and transitions that had been installed in the transmission line over the years — exactly when, nobody knows.
Every unnecessary transition in an RF system can introduce additional insertion loss, impedance discontinuities, reflections, and group-delay variation. So instead of simply working around what was already there, we are cleaning up and simplifying the RF path.
By removing unnecessary adapters and improving the transmission-line configuration, our goal is to reduce group delay and RF losses, improve impedance matching, and deliver a cleaner, more efficient signal to the antenna.
This is what field engineering is about: not just maintaining equipment, but looking at the complete RF system and finding opportunities to make it perform better.
