The rumors were true… the food trucks are gone from Soak City.

At this point, the only one that remains is the Sand Bar.

While many guests enjoyed the food truck concept, they also came with some challenges, including unreliable air conditioning for team members working inside them during the hottest days of summer. From both an operational and employee safety standpoint, this change may ultimately be for the best.

Now for the fun question…

If you could design a brand-new dining location for Soak City, what would it be?

Would you create a tropical beach shack serving fresh tacos and frozen treats?

A surf-themed smokehouse with barbecue and loaded fries?

Did You Know? Shenandoah Lumber Company is a lot bigger than it looks!

Since opening with Kings Dominion in 1975, Shenandoah Lumber Company has been splashing guests for more than five decades. While most riders remember the iconic final drop, the amount of water powering this classic attraction is incredible.

🚰 Water flows through the flume at approximately 3,500 gallons per minute

Powered by two 100-horsepower pumps

The reservoir beneath the attraction holds an impressive 250,000 gallons of water

The ride’s thrilling finale sends riders down a 40-foot drop, and it’s still one of the few opening-day attractions operating at Kings Dominion today.

The next time you’re floating through the woods toward that splashdown, remember you’re riding a piece of Kings Dominion history that has entertained generations of guests since 1975.
